Howard 538 Posted October 11, 2013 I was looking for something to burn a permit on and a friend let me try his CZ-75B yesterday. Fell in love with it and bought a matte stainless one on-line last night. Today I met up with Russell who was nice enough to let me try his G34. The good news was that I did not find it all that much different than my G22 with a KKM conversion barrel. The bad news is he brought other toys. I fell in love with his STI Trojan and now have to have one. Thank goodness for OGAM, maybe I will come to my senses by then -- but I doubt it

NickC 23 Posted October 11, 2013 Howard, ever try a 617? They are AMAZING! You should really give mine a shot.
lunker 274 Posted October 11, 2013 That happens a lot, especially with CZ's and 1911's.
The_Matrix 105 Posted October 11, 2013 Sometimes, I'll glad for the one a month and permit process....cause I would be buying like crazy with nothing to stop me. The problem is that I like many things, but want to control the expenditure of funds.
Purple Patrick 638 Posted October 11, 2013 I have a 930 and a supernova because of this. This is actually one of the best things about this forum, many of us have gotten to know each other and get out and shoot each other's guns.
Vini 0 Posted October 11, 2013 At least avoid trying expencive guns. Once upon a time I've tried Sig P226... had to get one.

On a side note my brother in-law picked up a CZ last month and let me shoot it. I hate him.
Heavyopp 167 Posted October 12, 2013 Don't feel bad Howard -- I've got a Trojan and a 75B --- Your just catching up
Tallday 10 Posted October 12, 2013 Congrats! CZ is on my list and was probably on yours and all you needed was to shoot it, then game over get the cash out buy the gun.
Blacksmythe 71 Posted October 12, 2013 I always offer to let other people shoot my guns. I have met a lot of nice people. I would say over all gun owners in NJ as long as they meet you at the range are the least judgmental when it comes to meeting people of different races. Any way thats how I ended up with a P226. Went in with my uncles old .38 6 months later bought a p226 combat.
pbkid6974 1 Posted October 13, 2013 And this is why I dont try other peoples guns unless im looking for something to buy. Unless someone offered to let me shot one of their novelty guns, like a desert eagle or something along those lines that I have no interest in owning. Shawnmoore81 623 Posted October 13, 2013 This happened to me the other day. I had no interest in owning a walther. But then I shot my buddy's 9mm the other day and liked it a lot. So now it wouldn't break my heart if I ended up with one
ryan_j 0 Posted October 13, 2013 I always end up shooting other people's guns when I go to the range, lol. They end up shooting mine too. From that I've had an idea of what some of my future purchases should be.
Tallday 10 Posted November 8, 2013 My brother let me shoot his FNS 40 this week and I now have the only itch for one!! for me it was the easy gun I ever held and shot hole on hole with it!

gleninjersey 2,141 Posted November 9, 2013 The cost of joining a range will be nominal compared to the money you will want to spend after trying various guns from friendly members of that range. Save money...DON'T JOIN A RANGE!
Russell 3 Posted November 9, 2013 Howard has since returned the favor by letting me try his CZ. An SP-01 is on my short list. Save money...DON'T JOIN A RANGE! But where's the fun in that!
Bully 749 Posted November 11, 2013 That's why I didn't try a guy's TRR a couple of months ago. Such a sweet gun. A sweet gun that I can't afford. So, I took a pass. I've found other guns that have since caught my fancy. Trust me, something always pops up. Especially when a good deal is present. I truly need to avoid gun stores/counters for a while...
