UTAH no longer good in PA

Recommended Posts

Are there any other options to carry in PA? Though who knows how long those would last...

Well, as long as you are not in a vehicle or in Philly you can Open Carry. So you could lock it up in the car and then open carry once you leave your car outside of Philly. I'm sure PA would love to see more of this as a result of their change in the UTAH permit. Here is more info. http://www.opencarry.org/?page_id=292

After further review of the handgunlaw.us site it would appear that a TX non-res would be another way to go. I believe you have to take the class in TX. I think they have recently relaxed the class requirements, but I also believe it is still around two days to complete.

Get use to this... as urban zones increase in population gun owners in more rural areas will lose more rights... Rural voters are not as active.... IMO pa will be nj in a few years. It happened in NY.

damn......wtf is going on w/ PA?

All gun laws passed in PA in the next 5 years will be pro-2A.

You are mixing apples and oranges. This is a rouge Ag hired by Bloomberg that is breaking the law and running around like a whacko. It has nothing to do with the gun culture in PA (the strongest in the US), and nothing to do with the legislature.

I also see people here running around yelling the sky is falling because Corbet is going to lose governorship and an anti-gun lib will be governor of PA. Now, that also won't change the legislature, but let me ask you this:

Who was governor before Corbet?

Anti-gun extremist Philly politician Fast Eddie Rendel. What happened durign Rendel's tenure? Pro-gun bills were passed.

Yes, you people coming from Jersey and NY may some day be the death of us. But that day is not coming soon. And nothing to do with what this whacko bitch AG is doing, and what she is doing is not a symptom of any larger or pending problem.

Folks on the PAFOA site are thinking this is for PA Residents with Utah permits only. They have asked for clarification from the PA AG office

They are full of baloney. Pa residents can only carry on a PA LTCF now because of the McKown case.

Mipafox can confirm this, but I'm pretty sure you don't need to "lock it up in the car" if you have any valid CCW. You can leave it on your hip while in a car if you have the CCW.

The point is that if you were relying on a UT permit to do this, it no longer applies. Therefore you need to disarm in a vehicle.

I have Nappen and Bach checking this out! Details to follow.

If this is true Anthony, could you look into possible Texas non resident CCW classes here in Jersey? I don't know if this is even possible. But I would definitely take the class here rather than visit Texas if I didn't have to.
