40 S&W Caliber Guy

Recommended Posts

Variety is the spice of life they say. Who are "They" and why is variety a "Spice"??? I don't know. I would argue that salt is actually the spice of life, hyponatremia will kill someone.

I do however like a variety of guns. I have 9's, 40's, 45's, 38/357's and 22 handguns. When one caliber is tough to find another is not-so-difficult to find. When 9 and 45 were tough to find I was able to buy 40 at a decent price.

Just my own opinion.

With that being said, I like my 40's but they're not my favorites.

Disturbing. Makes me want to sell all my .40 stuff now. Maybe even give-away the 610..............   ;)

I'm waiting for Alec and Nick to bombard me with texts and PM's now.   :)

6 shot revo for USPSA is dead now bro, it's all about the 8 shots now.

Truth to tell, I have a 40 conversion barrel for my Glock 20. I'll deny it if anyone asks though.

I also have a Glock 20 G4. Actually a .40 conversion barrel is not a bad idea for saving $$$ at the range. 10mm ammo is very pricey.

Why I like .40:

1) I can reload the suckers from 135gr mouse fart steel loads to 1100 fps 180gr loads.

2) better extractor groove than a 9mm.

3) really straight walled, so I can push through size them if needed.

4) much more likely to find 15 round capacity full sized guns for .40 than 9 or 45.

6) SD ammo is just as effective for .45 , 9mm and .40 so it's not like it is disadvantaged.

It isn't perfect, but there's a reason it has been successful.
