Better yet, I found myself reading through a bunch of laws in NJ regarding many aspects to the concept of picketing close to homes..

 

-Well, NOTHING by NJ standards puts you in any legal trouble i could find by having organized group picketing. The biggest rules are to have NO impact on the general public.EVEN stalking has an exemption for group picketing. These ordinances he is proposing is a) stupid and shows his intent and b) prime S.C. material. Hardly worth anyone's time in that town to muster up the balls to pass an ordinace, but they might with his connections.

True. But I know I would be pissed if folks were protesting outside my home.

 

What I don't like about this situation is that Sweeney made a phone call and this got fast tracked. Do you think that would happen for anyone else? Sweeney may be right from a "right to privacy" vs "right to protest" perspective, but he's doing it for the wrong, personal, reason and abusing his clout to slam it through.

Oh I know. And he personally deserves it. But when discussing a law/ordinance we should look past this specific application to the general case.
