gleninjersey 2,141 Posted May 17, 2016 Have you held or fired a CZ P01? If not I highly recommend you try it.I too have smaller hands and the P01 fits my hand extremly well. CZs are tack drivers and outside of the US they are the most widely copied platform in the world.Sootch00 (Youtuber) has some good videos on many of CZ offerings (75, RAMI, P07, PCR, etc). Check them out for some detailed information. Here's Sootch00's video comparing the full size CZ-75B and the CZ 75 Compact PCR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XskvmjdJbKk And here's his video on just the full size CZ-75B https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybT3wCzzB0M&list=PLB8B525D93F45E1FC&index=4 Edit: Actually if you are looking at leaving NJ in the near future you may want to consider the PCR (Police Czech Republic) version if you'll be carrying. Here's a decent video reviewing the PCR vs the P01. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeoTQkLctM4 Good luck with your search! Let us know what you ended up going with. InFamous 311 Posted May 18, 2016 Lambo, I know you're looking at a full sized pistol, but don't pass on checking out a Shield. I also have small hands and even the 7rd mag fits my hand almost perfectly.
Lambo2936 297 Posted May 18, 2016 Will look into all of those. Thanks for the info guys. Anyone know of an *affordable* 9mm 1911? Id like to check one of those out too. I know i saw some compact kimber 1911s but id imagine those are out of my price range.

Lambo2936 297 Posted May 19, 2016 Any one specific model? They have quite a bit out there.
Rob0115 1,105 Posted May 20, 2016 beretta 92fs compact, single stack, I think that's a Type M for single stack version.
Lambo2936 297 Posted May 20, 2016 For those suggesting RIA, any specific model or just look at their whole line in general?
Purple Patrick 638 Posted May 20, 2016 Gi if you want a "milspec" bare bones gun. Tactical models have more features like rails, fiber optic sight and beavertail. I think they even have a match grade line now. I'd recommend the tactical line. Specifically the 9mm/22tcm package. Check that round out Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Pine Baron 10 Posted May 20, 2016 For those suggesting RIA, any specific model or just look at their whole line in general? Rock Std. FS, ($594 MSRP) or my favorite, GI Std. FS ($522 MSRP). I like the wood grips.
Lambo2936 297 Posted May 25, 2016 Just put in for 2 Pistol Permit's. Initial FID & PP was under a month, so hopefully this one is around the same time. Now to start actively shopping. Will visit Heritage when i get back from Michigan next week and check out some stuff.
Slab Sides 20 Posted June 2, 2016 I have a SR1911 too and didn't like the stock trigger, felt like I had to reach for it. I swapped it out for a short trigger ($15 Remington) and couldn't be happier. The short trigger only changes ergonomics by moving the front of the trigger back, doesn't have anything to do with the action. It was drop in so no fitting necessary. Also, a 9mm 1911 is going to have the same frame as a 9mm 1911. Like Genewarper111 said, check out a couple of the Sigs.
Lambo2936 297 Posted June 4, 2016 They have the 9mm compact 1911s. That said, i dont have an issue with the fitment of a 1911, i just wanted something lighter (poly?) And in 9mm that i can get good with and carry out of state. Love the 1911, but the 45 is a bit much. I think i can do better and control rapid firing better with a 9mm. Purple Patrick 638 Posted June 4, 2016 I think I've said it before but buy a shield they are dirt cheap now and amazing little pistols. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Lambo2936 297 Posted June 4, 2016 No permits yet. When i get the chance in the next few weeks ill head to heritage in Easton and check out some stuff. I'll compile a list of what i want to hold and shoot before i go. The shield is on the list.
JaketheMoose 0 Posted June 22, 2016 I have a Sig P290RS single stack that I love. The wife likes shooting it and it carries very well. I think I only paid around $350 BNIB with night sights and 3 mags. Tough to beat. Good Luck
Ricky_Bobby 130 Posted June 23, 2016 Lambo - just wanted to update you as I have fairly small hands myself - I ended up with a Glock 26 last week (I'll be adding a 19 as well, same grip profile and thickness) - my thumb JUST reaches the mag release I also held the Sig P320 Carry in store, the mag release is a bit smaller on the Sig's and my thumb doesn't reach as easily on them - I would have needed to swap the grip module out ($45) to the Small version You're looking at single stacks I know, but I figured I'd let you know my experiences with the doubles to give you something to go by (don't know if I mentioned but I take a Medium in motorcycle gloves) - Glock 43 was an even easier reach to the mag release (I'll probably add that one next year with my GSSF renewal)
Lambo2936 297 Posted June 24, 2016 Thanks for the update bud.Not set on single stack, but that seems to be the optimal fit for me. If i can find a double that fits nicely, id take it in a heartbeat. I'm going to try the G19, i think that'd be nice to have. Its certainly nice to have the added capacity of the double stack, though a single would still be a better conceal gun. I SHOULD have my permits by now but one of the references didn't send in his papers, of course.. so i still have time to look around. Hoping to hit up easton this upcoming week sometime and buy something, though i may as well just wait for permits to come in so i can shoot and buy that day.
