Newtonian 453 Posted September 9, 2016 I don't memorize legal stuff like this but this is what I do. The first gun has already been ordered and is sitting at the FFL by the time my permits come through. I go and make the transfer say 4-5 days after receiving the permits. I order the next gun and wait 31 days, then pick it up. If I have 3 permits I repeat the second step. How many turds can we balance on the head of a pin? Ricky_Bobby 130 Posted September 9, 2016 Its calendar days - whatever date is on your "pink copy" just add 31 days to that date and you are good to go - Its not pick up date its the date on your pink copy and 4473 (which must match) - so if you paid and did transfer but didn't pick it up for 2 days you go by the date on your pink copy -
Lambo2936 297 Posted September 9, 2016 I dont think the 30th counts as you bought one that day, and i dont know if day # 30 counts either. I'd wait til September 30th to be safe.

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot 358 Posted September 9, 2016 There's an app for that. Only $1.99. Lol NJ Permit Calculator by Brad TREMAROLI https://appsto.re/us/UioX2.i
45Doll 5,891 Posted September 9, 2016 There's an Excel spreadsheet for that on my computer, and it costs $0. From permit(s) date through 180 day renewal period with minimum purchase spacing dates specified. Very clever these Americans.

Newtonian 453 Posted September 12, 2016 As the author of numerous spurious, useless, ridiculous, unhelpful, clueless, erroneous, scurrilous, and electron-wasting posts I must point out that this is by far the lamest conversation we have in these forums. And we have it every few months like clockwork. If you can't grasp the concept of OGPM and figure out a way to stay within the stupid rules you shouldn't own a gun. If you have such a big hard on for not missing 20 seconds (vs. a safe, boring 24 hours) of ownership for your 14th handgun -- or even your first -- you need to get a life. I hate that expression but here it's appropriate.

Indianajonze 379 Posted September 13, 2016 Then go after 30 days, or on the 31st or 32nd day. What's the big deal? the big deal is that the law is stupid, arbitrary and unconstitutional. therefore, whenever i have the means (money and permit in hand) i make it a point of going exactly every 30 days. it's my small measure of protest i guess. also procrastination

Do you think he grinds his teeth at night knowing you got your full time and not a minute less with your new handgun? I go when it's convenient for me, when I know I'm definitely "over." No bullshit, no rework, no rejection, no nonsense. I don't waste a single synapse on this crap. Despite "missing" what I'm sure were many days over my numerous acquisitions I'm still in one piece, my balls are still attached, I've survived every near-fatal encounter. SuRrEaLNJ 294 Posted September 13, 2016 i have a solution to this whole thing, ahve a wife that allows some purchases, but would shoot you with her gun if you did OGAM. its never a concern for me. over the last few years i think ive purchased 4 pistols, so theres that
Newtonian 453 Posted September 14, 2016 Procrastination Sent from an undisclosed location via Tapatalk. WTF are you talking about? Procrastination is postponing something you must or should do. Picking up a gun when you're supposed to, when you feel like it, avoiding the possibility of being rejected by NICS, has nothing to do with procrastination. Timing it to coincide with 30.053824 days is a fetish. What if you're getting laid at that moment? "Sorry dear I have to go pick up my gun!"
