blksheep 466 Posted April 23, 2017 Have a 15 JK 2 Door. Looking for a 33" setup. Dont want to regear it has 3.21s. It wont be a daily driver but it will make the yearly trip to the OBX. This is our toy/third vehicle and our 3rd Wrangler. Miss my 04 Rubi dearly.

Zeke 5,504 Posted April 23, 2017 A friend of mine had a yj she bought used after college. 33" and a chassis lift. Went through two motors because it had original gearing. http://www.alloyusa.com/gear-ratio-calculator/ Keeping the same gearing may not be the wisest choice. With the proper gearing and larger tires mpg should stay the same.
fishnut 2,358 Posted April 23, 2017 http://dpgoffroad.com/productcategories/suspension-kits/ I'd recommend OME brand. Dpg offroad has some great kits and he will walk you through every option available so you can get the best kit for your needs. I highly recommend them! fishnut 2,358 Posted April 23, 2017 I've heard of some QC issues with terra flex but no personal experience. Mostly with there terra low gear boxes and control arms.

JackDaWack 2,895 Posted April 23, 2017 Gearing may be a little issue, but if it's not a daily your fine. Keep the lift under 3" otherwise your going to be spending a lot of money in axel geometry correction. Terraflex is good, I have the rock krawler 1.5" lift, gave me about 2" overall lift and leveled out the nose. Love the ride too, with flat fenders I fit 35's, but I had to use extended bump stops in the rear to prevent rubbing at max flex. I would skip the budget boost kits, and get a real spring kit, they make so many sizes now and they aren't that much more money or require that much more effort to install. ironbeard 1 Posted April 23, 2017 Would you be interested in a roof rack. I know you're looking for lift advice but i bought a rack for my jeep and it doesn't work with my rear bumper. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
carl_g 568 Posted April 23, 2017 My wife has a 2016 rubicon 4dr. Can bigger tires be put on without lifting it? If so what rim size/ tire combo works? Thanks.
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted April 23, 2017 My wife has a 2016 rubicon 4dr. Can bigger tires be put on without lifting it? If so what rim size/ tire combo works? Thanks. I ran my 35's with no lift but you need to use flat fenders like the bushwackers with at least 4.5 backspacing. Forgot to mention, you will need to cut the front air damn and shorten the rock sliders in the rear.
Nucrunner 75 Posted April 23, 2017 02 TJ w/4 inch Rough Country lift, 33's and rear re-geared to 4.11 (very smooth 2720 rpm's at 65 mph).
302w 83 Posted April 24, 2017 Make sure you mount a high lift jack, a Jerry can, and vape. I'm sorry, I had to LOL
SuRrEaLNJ 294 Posted April 24, 2017 jk will clear a 33 with just a leveling kit, wheel spacers or higher backspace wheels will help. stock is a 32 basically so 285 heres a few from the web, linked because of size (thats what she said) this is 235/70/17 on stock wheels with 1.5 spacers https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/NBfF8Kyw1ULgjNaXrROkNGsmbWF9lnmWX2CkumNmNQs=w824-h1098-no 285/70/17, unknown mods https://i.imgur.com/vFzOMbg.jpg everybrand is going to vary on actual measurements and thus revs per mile, you can easily figure out the percentage change in rev/mile but it should be minimal im still on 255s but i got a sweet deal on km1s in that size, i have the teraflex leveling kit tho. plans are to replace this set with 285/70/17 KM2s back doors are on because of tiny humans tires seem to look smaller on JKUs
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted April 24, 2017 back doors are on because of tiny humans I damn near pissed myself when I read that.
