...disregard...

Found the light interferes with my grip of its mounted leftside, I practice manipating the light with the pads of my ring and middle fingers, seems to work well so fat.

Toying with the idea of a VFG, so that may change..

you are running into the same issue I did... but putting it on the left side and activating it cleanly while still maintaining a good grip was not working out.,.. I used a haily thorntail mount for a while to get the light out of the way of my grip but still keep it on the left..

but I eventually even ditched that and went with a Midwest rail which I love.. on the rail I have now the light is on the left and I am running a switch at the 11 o'clock rail position...  which takes little to no effort to activate... no huge change in grip..

tried VFG a lot.. hate it..

this was the temporary setup with my magpul MOE to get the light out of the way of my grip..eventually moved the light even a little further towards the muzzle before ditching it..

Maybe a different light mount that will push the light out further on the rail would give you the space required to grip?

Magpul makes a similar mount called the "MOE Scout Mount". Costs $9.50 and lets you direct mount a Surefire Scout (M600 or M300 series) or any light you want with a mounting ring. You just need to specify left side (11:00 mount) or right side (1:00) mount.

Lightweight, solid, cheap, easy to install, and moves the light out further.

Another nice feature is the Scout Mount has a nice little shelf for your thumb. I have found that it helps recoil control a bit as well as driving the gun.

Here is my new girl "ERIKA". She's a Spikes Tactical ST15, I just picked her up last week but hadn't had a chance to post pics.. (my in-law were here).

Current Specs:

  • Spikes Tactical Spider lower with bullet pictos
  • Spikes Tactical Enhanced LPK
  • Spikes Tactical Milspec Upper
  • 14.5" Spikes Tactical Barrel w/Dynacomp Extreme pinned and welded to make it NJ Compliant
  • Spikes Tactical H2 buffer
  • ACE Skeleton Stock (long)
  • Spikes Tactical Charging handle w/battle latch
  • Magpul MOE Mid length front hand guard
  • MI rear BUS
  • Magpul Grip

I plan to make a few changes to her in the next few weeks.. most likely change out the hand guards, the stock, Magpul exteded Bolt Catch Release, Ambidextrous safety,  and maybe upgrade to a gisellie trigger system..

anyway, here are the photos of her current state!

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in

    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
