I'd 2nd the M1A approach, but you can't go wrong with an AR10, PTR91, DSA SA58, SCAR, and more that I can't think of right now.

What are you going for? Precision, fun plinking, long range, combo-good all rounder?

If you are worried about NJ-compliant, read up on Vlad's is-it-legal post. You can also find the .308 SA gun of your dreams and contact a few vendors on this site and ask them. Many of them can make-legal many guns that are out there that may not be NJ-ready from the factory.

Looking for plinking gun,SCAR sound good, but not sure about legality in NJ.

Keltekv RBF was my first choice, but so far no one can/want order.

Is it any piston upgrade for AR10?Looked at POF,LWRC nice, but I'm not

sure if i want spend that much money.
