Marlboro Township Council Looks to Ban Hunting & Firearms Use

Recommended Posts

I just got a warning email from ANJRPC on this matter.

If the Marlboro Twp Council passes this ordinance, I'd like to participate in the drawing and quartering of the voting majority on grounds of treason against the citizenry.

Anyone else?

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE

WOULD BAN MOST HUNTING AND SHOOTING!

Please call today and tell the town council to defeat Ordinance 2012-23!

Tonight at 7p.m., the Marlboro Township Council is scheduled to consider final passage of its Ordinance 2012-23, which would ban all hunting on parcels smaller than 25 acres, and prohibit firearms discharge within 1500 feet of any residential property line, without exemptions for shooting ranges, self-defense, or target practice on private property.

Given the population density of Marlboro township (approximately 442 residences per square mile according to the 2010 census), the net effect of the ordinance is to ban most hunting and shooting, and is a direct assault on Second Amendment rights.

Please call the township council today and urge them to vote "no” on Ordinance 2012-23, or to postpone the final vote until appropriate exceptions can be included.

Do you remember what Princeton & Princeton Twp did? First they passed an ordinance banning hunting. F&W (or whatever agency hunting regs fall under) said that they can't do that as there is/was pre-emption. The municipalities said, "OK", rescinded that regulation and banned the discharge of firearms within their borders, effectively accomplishing the same thing. Within 5 years the deer population exploded. Deer/car accidents were up 1000% and many Princetonians weren't happy campers with all the deer chowing down on thousands of dollars of landscaping. Not to mention that the occurence of Lyme disease increased also.

What did they do about it? Typical liberal solution: Instead of reinstating hunting as a viable, revenue-generating solution, they paid a professional hunting outfit (White Buffalo from CO IIRC) to come in and cull the deer herds at night. They used AR's with suppressors and night vision scopes & glasses - anyone want to count how many state laws were violated? Typical - instead of implementing a solution where they could actually make money, they burden the taxpayers by throwing money at the problem. Meh.

Adios,

PIzza Bob

Seriously? When was this? Typical Princeton. I expected it out of the Borough, but not the township. The Township people still typically have half a brain.
