Socom 19 Posted December 4, 2012 I'm partial to the Dan Wesson valor; built so well and tight for a production pistol and no MIM parts
zoid 24 Posted December 7, 2012 Favorite by default cause it's my only 1911. But it's my favorite handgun of all the one's I've ever owned.

Steve_G 51 Posted December 7, 2012 Awesome stuff!! Love the "Glock" 1911! Hoping for more pics. C A Glock 1911? Would probably have a gritty 12 lb trigger.
Bully 749 Posted December 7, 2012 A Glock 1911? Would probably have a gritty 12 lb trigger. Yup, but I bet it would run like a top! C
NJdiverTony 27 Posted December 7, 2012 Favorite that I own: Springfield TRP .45ACP I will be picking up a S&W 1911 Pro 9mm towards the end of the month, a very nice 1911 but, I don't think it will take over the top spot. Don't be too sure! :-) The S&W 1911's will surprise you... I absolutely love mine. Your TRP sure is a beauty though!
NJdiverTony 27 Posted December 7, 2012 ......all of them are....... Hmmmm..... mostly.... my early 50's colt 38 super...its ugly as sin but she sure shoots...,. Or....the one I assembled ..... or the 1918 us marked...or the......oh hell All of them +1 1911's are just awesome, period! I'm happy shooting any 1911! NJdiverTony 27 Posted December 7, 2012 I own an S&W E-Series 1911 that I absolutely love... but the one 1911 that I've shot and really wished I could own was a high end Wilson Combat 1911. That pistol was so smooth and just such a pleasure to shoot. I know there are probably better 1911's out there, but this one just felt like it became a part of me when shooting it. It was THAT nice. Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted December 7, 2012 I love what I know. I've never shot a wilson or any other top dollar 1911s, but I absolutely love my S&W 1911 pro. It just dominates at 25 yards. Well, at least thats what I think lol. I know some bullseye guys would scoff at this target
Steve_G 51 Posted December 8, 2012 Yup, but I bet it would run like a top! C I don't know about that. I have seen more than a few Glocks go "bolt action" or just fail to fire completely at the local competitions. One had been "worked" on the others were stock. Ray Ray 3,566 Posted December 8, 2012 I don't know about that. I have seen more than a few Glocks go "bolt action" or just fail to fire completely at the local competitions. One had been "worked" on the others were stock. I'm sure it had something to do with either reloaded ammo or do-it-yourself gunsmithing that some people do to shave seconds off the clock. Like it's really worth it. Buy a Glock, add a decent pair of sights and its ready to go.
Bully 749 Posted December 9, 2012 Thanks all for the insight. No offense, but let's get back on topic... Who likes 1911's!?!?! C
2Alpha 6 Posted December 9, 2012 I would say Sti are my favorite. I have seen a lot of factory glock crap out with factory ammo. Some is caused by limp wristing. But a fight gun should cycle no matter how you hold it
Damjan 73 Posted December 9, 2012 Here is my favourite(and only ) Would like to shoot the high end 1911s though when i get a chance
tony357 386 Posted December 9, 2012 Don't be too sure! :-) The S&W 1911's will surprise you... I absolutely love mine. Your TRP sure is a beauty though! The pro is nicer than the TRP operational aspect.. The TRP is sweet though..
Bully 749 Posted December 9, 2012 Damjan... There is something about the relative simplicity of that Remy that makes it so sweet. Nice choice. C
Damjan 73 Posted December 9, 2012 Damjan... There is something about the relative simplicity of that Remy that makes it so sweet. Nice choice. C You are so right, It is kind of simple in a way. I was on the fence between this , the Springfield RO and the Remington R1 Stainless and chose this. Its my first and i was amazed that it shot so good, accuracy and all. I do have a G21 in .45 cal but i shoot this better. Remington has been getting so so reviews and on the R1 but so far i am happy with it...........200rds only until now.....will post a review at 500 and 1000 count. BlueLineFish 615 Posted December 9, 2012 Can't wait to ppick up my Remy R1 Centennial. I have an RO as well so I will have to compare the two
maxxishunter35 0 Posted December 10, 2012 i found one id really like to have , a springfield 1911 long slide my father got one not to long ago i havent got to fire it yet but just holding it in my hand i want one
brizbane 1 Posted December 13, 2012 I have many. This is probably my favorite right now. Why? To me it's a piece of functional art. Metal work that is flawless. Fit and finish second to none. I get joy just from holding it in my hands. It's a Pistol Dynamics modernized Combat Special. Hand fit piece by piece by Paul Liebenberg who is a 1911 master craftsman. W O W, that 1911 is A W E S O ME ! ! As much as I love my Wilson and Baer, and they are fine guns, your 1911 is in a whole nother league.
the_stranger 13 Posted December 17, 2012 My favorite. Hoping to add another 1911 (or two) in 2013. Dan Wesson PM9
