Stuff to do in Delaware?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks.
Thinking of ordering a Rem 700 SPS from Cabelas since they are having their sale right now and with the rebate and sale the rifle would be dirt cheap.
Since i'd already be in Delaware if i did, i figured maybe i can do something with my s/o and 1YO. Any suggestions for stuff to do there? Don't mind driving a bit further south, as well, as long as the drive home is 3 hrs or less (to Woodbridge NJ).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Keep in mind we'll have the baby with us. Some nice parks and such would be cool, or anything touristy that isn't a total waste of time. Not a big fan of cities, we like Nature and pretty landscapes and parks and such.

Lums Pond State Park Is kind of nice if you like outdoors. Has outdoor activities including a lake with boat rentals. Note there's a county ordinance prohibiting guns in parks despite state preemption. Kathys crab house in Delaware City is open carry friendly. The Riverfront section of Wilmington is nice, just don't stray inland to downtown or you'll get shot.

Not at all man. Plenty to do in Delaware

Like I stated main st in Newark is great. It's in the middle of the university of Delaware. Great atmosphere of shops, bars and restaurants. Also Delaware park is a lot of fun, especially if they have horses running.

I was down there one time and we had a redneck roof surfing my buddy's car at 90 mph. I was getting really, really pissed and telling him to stop. But they acted like it was nothing. Wonder if that dude is still alive. His trailer park girlfriend kept showing me her tits (she was hot) when me and another guy were alone with her and another girl IN PUBLIC. And she tried to fuck me. And she intentionally blew her boyfriend in another room but where I could see what was going on. We drove around in a car with a small keg in the trunk and a tap in the back seat and got smashed. My buddy was the driver and he didn't have more than three or four beers all night. Then he and his buddy drag raced about 5 times. Like old school, one person per car, girl signals go, and somebody with a beer watches the finish line to judge. I slept on the couch and his friend handed me a porn magazine before going to bed. His GF got up before the sun came up and tried again to fuck me with her BF in the trailer asleep. When everybody was up, my buddy shaved my head and we got into the truck. Pulled over on the side of a road next to a swamp and started shooting stuff in the swamp. Then they threw some kind of explosives into the swamp and blew shit up.

That's Delaware.

I spent a month down there at one time and we would walk miles all day. And drink Mad Dog 20/20 and Southern Comfort. And stick firecrackers up frogs asses.

One night we swam in a quary that apparently had hazardous waste dumped in it and everybody's skin started burning at the same time and we ran out and drove like heck to my buddy's friend's trailer and packed four guys into the shower. No homo.

BTW, in case anybody is wondering, all this is true, no joke.

Not true. My buddy lives there and I've golfed there and it's totally fine. Maybe there's an area I'm not aware of, otherwise it's like DE in general.

Newark, DE is just as shitty as Newark, NJ. Don't wander off the main strip, and don't go out at night.

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
