bhunted 887 Posted October 27, 2016 Ever think that they keep it locked at their homes to keep prying eyes out and just transport it the way they store it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
fatty 241 Posted October 27, 2016 yeah and they make sure you look like an idiot walking around with a huge locked plastic container....because ammo is scary really? I've never had that happen. Last time I bought ammo (crappy remington UMC sale) there I just took loose ammo boxes up to the counter and paid for them like any other item. I bought a shotgun there too and it was the same process.

W2MC 1,699 Posted October 27, 2016 We should ban threads on worthless stores like Dicks and a few others. Disagree - "worthless" stores is an opinion. I find them quite worthwhile. I keep recycling those $10 off $50 coupons from Dick's - they're good for ammo, and stack for the "on-sale" price, too!
T Bill 649 Posted October 27, 2016 Ten dollars off a high price is no bargain. Rarely their sales price is even something to consider.
siderman 1,138 Posted October 27, 2016 Btw I get why people are hard on Dicks but back when ammo was rare when they did get it they never gouged or raised their standard pricing and at the time I appreciated that. Also got a great deal on a mis-priced safe they honored. Sure they dissed the black rifle crowd, had a scam or two but they're still here selling some guns & ammo. Work the coupons and there are some reasonable deals.

T Bill 649 Posted October 27, 2016 $42-$43 a case for 12 gauge clay loads is not a bad price.... When? Last I saw, was $55+ case on sale. You telling me $4.50/box OTD?
W2MC 1,699 Posted October 27, 2016 When? Last I saw, was $55+ case on sale. You telling me $4.50/box OTD? I've been buying either a case of 12 gauge or a couple of .22 bricks a week. Basically whenever I pass the place. Their receipts want your input for a survey, and they reward you with a $10 off $50 coupon. With the 10 off 50 coupon, a case of Gun Club #7.5's on sale for...what was it, about $5.29 a box last week?...I forget the exact number...becomes $42.90 for a case of 10. Same with the .22s. The boxes of 333 federals were on sale for $19 a box. Three of them, with the coupon, become $47, or $15.66 a mini-brick.

deerpark 83 Posted October 28, 2016 How does one go about getting a $10 off coupon? I just picked up some GECO 223 on stripper clips for $.33/round delivered.
W2MC 1,699 Posted October 28, 2016 How does one go about getting a $10 off coupon? I just picked up some GECO 223 on stripper clips for $.33/round delivered. First, you read the posts...particularly where I said: "Their receipts want your input for a survey, and they reward you with a $10 off $50 coupon." So...to start. You buy something at Dick's Sporting Goods. Then you go to their web page https://telldickssportinggoods.smg.com/ At that web site you input the receipt info...store, day, recept number, and what you spent. Then you tell them what you thought of the store....simple generic questions, like what dept did you shop, did everyone talk nice to you, etc. When you are done answering the questions, they give you (or email you....your choice) a printable 10 dollars off 50 coupon print the coupon, bring coupon to store, buy $50 worth of ammo, Store knocks $10 off the price. Bring ammo home Jump on computer repeat. These coupons work on ammo that is already on sale; like the gun club ammo I mentioned earlier. Looking at the receipt, it's normally $6.99 a box ($69.90 a case)....not a good deal. But it was on sale last week for $5.48 a box...not bad, but nothing to write home about....BUT...with the coupon, the $54.80 case price becomes $44.80; which is a pretty decent deal, and not bad for stopping by when you happen to be driving past the store. I've been doing this every week or so for months. AND If you sign-up for their "scorecard", for every $300 you purchase, they mail you another $10 off coupon. This one stacks with the 10 off 50, so for the next trip you bring home $50 worth of ammo for $

I don't argue with them. I'm usually doing the same thing you are and just buying enough to use the coupon, so if they give me a hard time I just say "ok thanks" and walk out. It's hit or miss in Wayne. But it's close so I keep trying.
