deerpark 83 Posted July 16, 2016 I need to get one of these. Tell me everything. This take down one looks cool, is it Jersey legal?
JohnnyB 4,325 Posted July 16, 2016 The rifle is legal. The 25 round magazine pictured is a no go.

DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted July 16, 2016 Nope, good to go otherwise. BTW, there is a BX-15 magazine available which holds 15 rounds. Looks very similar to the 25 round pictured, just shorter.
T Bill 649 Posted July 16, 2016 Hard case only available with the 25 round mag, model 11193. NJ no go, Hard case only sold with rifle for now. The first pic is of the original 11100, with the soft case Call Tanner's Sport Shop in Jamison, PA and see if they still have any of the model 11177 available.Great price worth the drive. I know they have another model with a threaded barrel and FH but as sold is a NJ no go.
InFamous 311 Posted July 16, 2016 I don't have the take down model but I LOVE my 10/22. It will eat anything and is super reliable. You can never go wrong with a 10/22, almost a must have for all gun owners.

fishnut 2,358 Posted July 16, 2016 wouldn't the flash hider be legal as long as there is no pistol grip?
Purple Patrick 638 Posted July 16, 2016 Better than current PSA sale price of $250?Yes this signature exceeds the 15 character capacity count
T Bill 649 Posted July 16, 2016 Yes this signature exceeds the 15 character capacity count Add $2.74 to that PSA price and your out the door at Tanner's. BX-15's were in Cabelas Bargain Cave for $20.69 shipped.

T Bill 649 Posted July 16, 2016 Yeah, I emailed them. I'll have to go there soon. Is that a sale price or regular price? Special purchase price, when the lot is sold, it's all over. I would not wait. They will do a 1 week hold, or a 90 day NR deposit layaway. Make sure you get the right offer.
Ricky_Bobby 130 Posted July 18, 2016 I have the exact one in the first pic. Sweet tacticool bag it came with. What an awesome rifle for the price. Came with one 10 round rotary mag. I've since added 2 of the BX-15 mags and another rotary mag. Also added: -Kidd auto bolt release (stock is kinda weird, this allows you to just rack it with a new mag like a semi auto pistol) -Kidd extended charging handle and guide rod -Kidd mag release lever and stainless magazine plunger -Kidd bolt buffer -Hogue black over molded takedown stock -picatinny rail with see through (so you can use iron sights without scope) It's a sweet shooter and an awesome rifle for the price even with the mods I added. It's actually my wife's favorite to shoot and I have a blast with it. Super reliable too and feeds well with the factory Ruger mags.
Ricky_Bobby 130 Posted July 18, 2016 wouldn't the flash hider be legal as long as there is no pistol grip? I believe so. As its one evil feature. No pistol grip good to go. Tactical Solutions sells a nice bull barrel (threaded) and Hogue stock kit for the 10/22 Takedown.
T Bill 649 Posted July 18, 2016 Most distributors will not sell the threaded barrel version in NJ citing the threaded barrel and the flash hider as two separate features. Some will not even sell the threaded barrel with the barrel nut installed.
njJoniGuy 2,131 Posted July 18, 2016 Two must-have mods for any 10/22: Auto bolt release - Midway Product #: 688102 or DIY (search YouTube, takes 5 min to do and reinstall the modded part) Ruger BX trigger group - Midway Product #: 534496 (very nice 2.5-3.5 lb trigger assembly, 2 pin 2 minute drop-in install)

JohnRyan 12 Posted July 24, 2016 Got my 10/22 at Caso's in Jersey City. One of my favorite rifles to shoot, aside from the Henry's. I added a weaver rimfire scope which thumb screws onto a Leupold Rifleman Ruger 1022 rail. I keep it in the takedown bag the rifle came with. The rail has a valley down the center so you can still use the iron sights. I replaced the stock irons with peep sight from skinner sights.
njpilot 671 Posted August 19, 2016 Only problem I've heard was not wing able to put it in the bag if you put an optic of some sort on it. I believe it was Blake that had one a couple years ago and that was a problem if you wanted to break it down and put it in the bag. I could be wrong, but remember that being an issue.
