1 point.. in this thread https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/84067-whats-everyone-buying-before-new-democratic-governor-is-elected/#comment-1076167 I found a home in Upper Mount Bethel, PA that fit my needs and my offer was accepted by the seller today. So I will be a PA resident by the end of June.

1 pointI have seen 2A groups come here and some members seem to do their best to drive them away with negative attitude towards anything the pro 2A folks are trying to do.

1 pointUnderstood... which is why I wanted to see if someone knows the maker at Oaks, then I can contact them to see which show they are going to be at. The last one I went to, brought the gun, which wasn't an issue (L/E at door just toss a zip tie through the barrel), but rather go there knowing I can get it done. Carrying a full-size CZ around in a soft case isn't the funnest experience, especially when you buy a rifle, pickles, and meat. If I know I'll be walking out with a holster, then I don't mind the anchor as I go through the aisles.

1 pointAt least Recoil Range did not accept pre construction membership money and then wait..The other Monroe range took money and people have been waiting over 2 years, not right. I had a feeling the Union Hill club would open sooner anyway(politics) if and when,

1 pointYea. I'm a McLaren junky. It's a different kinda car. You don't bump into one every 10 minutes like Fezzas and Lambos. But they have both dihedral doors and a they're permanently in ludicrous mode. So my vocabulary list is fully checked off. Also, did I break anyone's balls? Or were you referring to something else?

1 pointMaks, I have to have non-shedding dogs with hair myself. We got a Kerry Blue Terrier last year. She is amazing. Smart and sweet and it looks like she will be a great frisbee dog. We bring her to the groomers once every other month with an occasional bath at home and she is good to go. I have friends with a Puli and another with a Komondor. Good dogs but lots of work to keep their coats healthy and they are very high energy.

1 pointLet me expand on that a little, the i8 is a nice car however I've never been a BMW guy. The rear end looks like what I used to draw on the covers of my notebooks when I was 12. But the real reason is because it has an 11 mile range on full electric. They put a lawnmower engine in the back to run the electric motors. It sounds like a lawnmower. Not a good lawnmower. So the obvious question is why did I get it? Well I saw the dihedral doors, I'm a fan, and I got my name on the list. It was one of the first ones. Bit of a let down. The Tesla, the good one, is amazing. I'm no tree hugger. But the ludicrous mode is plain crazy. Yes, it's an expensive option, yes it's a reference to "Space Balls" and yes it puts your eyeballs deep in the back of your cranium. Nothing quite like it.

1 pointBuy a reloading manual. Hornady and Lee are both good ones to start with. Nosler, Sierra and Lyman are also very good. Use it as a reference guide for correct procedure in addition to the load data within. Also, Youtube is your friend. If I were you, I would start with a single stage "kit" from and get comfortable with it first.
-
1 pointWow there will be a diversity of opinions from start slow to buy once cry once. I'm part of the latter crowd but it's really up to your wallet. Happy to chat on the phone to walk you through the process. However, there is plenty of reading and videos you can start with. Education, research and care are all very important when reloading to avoid accidents. I have a progresive Dillon 650 and an old RCBS rock chucker that I use for single stage work, mostly rifle for better quality rounds. I'll mention again care, quality control, focus and patience. Didn't I mention pay attention? Ok if I didn't pay attention to the process You'll find it rewarding and time enjoying the hobby when you aren't at the range. There's a dedicated reloading section. I'm sure a mod will relocate this.

1 pointBecause I prefer to have someone familiar with doing holsters make it... Same reason why I have certain gunsmithing things done by a gunsmith. With costs, time, and chance of messing it up and still having to find someone to do it right... I prefer to have someone do it right the first time.

1 pointjtd771 should not have any problem once he gets his new FID. See below, taken from ATF's website. My post office box, which is my legal/mailing address, has been on my DL since 1983. Since then I've bought dozens of guns without any problems. 18 U.S.C. 922(t)(1)(C): IDENTIFICATION OF TRANSFEREE 27 CFR 178.124: FIREARMS TRANSACTION RECORD Licensees may accept a combination of valid government-issued documents to satisfy the identification document requirements of the Brady Act. The required valid government-issued photo identification document bearing the name, photograph, and date of birth of the transferee may be supplemented by another valid, government-issued document showing the transferee's residence address. A member of the Armed Forces on active duty is a resident of the State in which his or her permanent duty station is located, and may satisfy the identification document requirement by presenting his or her military identification card along with official orders showing that his or her permanent duty station is within the State where the licensed premises are located. ATF Ruling 79-7 is superseded. ATF Rul. 2001-5 The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has received numerous inquiries from Federal firearms licensees (FFLs) regarding the acceptance of identification documents that do not show the purchaser's current residence address. FFLs have asked whether they may accept other documents, such as tax bills or vehicle registration documents, to establish the current residence address of the purchaser. It has been ATF's longstanding position that licensees may accept a combination of documents to establish the identity of a firearm purchaser. ATF Rul. 79-7, ATFQB 79-1, 26, interpreted a licensee's obligation to obtain satisfactory identification from a purchaser in the manner customarily used in commercial transactions, pursuant to the existing regulations under the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA). The ruling held that satisfactory identification of a firearms purchaser must include the purchaser's name, age or date of birth, place of residence, and signature. The ruling also held that while a particular document may not be sufficient to meet the statutory requirement for identifying the purchaser, any combination of documents that together disclosed the required information would be acceptable

1 pointIf it was me I would put an ir laser on your rifle and use helmet mounted or head mounted nv. The laser and flood on a good unit will go out way further than you will be shooting. The laser and illuminator on my dbal a2 at high power are crisp past 1k yards.

1 pointBLACK....thats the only way to buy a fast car. It disappears quickly in the night. what IF u have enuff guns already?
-
1 pointEither one is ok. I personally prefer Gun Broker. Ive heard some horror stories on Armslist deals and i almost was scammed once but caught on before any money was exchanged. I would definitely only buy from a local verified seller via Armslist.

1 pointI'm with Ray. We let the stupidity win. If half the hand wringing on this thread applies to you, move or sell your guns. You don't have the stomach for it. Try as you might to be a good subject in the prnj, one call from your wife and you're done. So exercise your good judgement, don't be an asshole and shut the fuck up. A lot of us have gotten through a fair portion of our lives safely practicing those rules. It's beyond me how anyone can still beard rub on these questions. Oh and one more thing... regardless of who tells you what, you're on your own... good luck

1 pointWhen all the carry stuff was going on the District of Columbia, I recall this from the judge" an atmosphere of propaganda set to dissuade residents of applying "( sumtin like that. Go for it. When I have the time I plan on it as well. I personally doubt I will be Denied p2p's in the future. I plan on quoting a few things from the constitution... Keep us informed. At worst you motivate only me. At best you will motivate many.

1 pointThis thread, along with many others, are the reason why the Anti's don't have to do anything to defeat us. Because we eat our own.

1 pointI believe the phrasing Evan used was... I do answer questions. Here are my driver's license, insurance card, and registration. IF that's the day some hat decides you're getting the full treatment, nothing you do or don't do will change that. actually, in NJ it's the opposite. Remember, guns are illegal, except by exception. You own firearms in this state at your peril.

1 pointPlease stop with the phony baloney $1 lease stuff. As far as storing a firearm in a locked container at a relative's house. I don't see a problem there. It's not a transfer. The relative has no access to the firearm if its locked up. It's not a transfer when you leave your guns at home and youre gone for a week is it? When you store firearms at one of these FFLS that rent you storage space it's not a transfer. I can see why it would be different. Reasonable deviation? That's up to interpretation. However, in 45 years of owning guns in NJ I have never heard of anyone arrested because they made an "unreasonable deviation" going to or coming from a range. If anyone knows of such an incident, please enlighten me. I've asked that question numerous times on this forum since it started and no one has been able to come up with one. IANAL, but I think too many over think the reasonable deviation issue.

1 pointEverything is for sale. No hold backs. Just be prepared when it comes to pricing. Even with giant discounts, prices will be about normal. Infamous marketing gimic. But, if you have gift cards, better buy something.

1 pointBig shout-out to Mike at Ocean Armory in Manahawkin. Best transfer price I've encountered, and a hell of a good guy. Responds to emails instantly, too. Highly highly highly recommended. I won't go anywhere else.

1 pointOcean Armory Manahawkin, NJ 609-316-6120 Pricing as indicated on their website. $10 per gun (Handgun or Long gun) $15 NICS background check Fee (only charged once per visit) 7% Sales Tax https://www.oceanarmory.com/transfer/ As a side note, a mod needs to merge the two FFL fee threads in this forum, what a mess it is.
