Breed specific rescues are a really good option. After losing both of my Australian Cattle Dogs (17yrs and 15yrs) in the past two years we found our new ACD through an ACD rescue. He is about three years old. I was hesitant at first, but I have to say that the is the easiest dog I have ever had. No puppy stage to go through. Overall a great dog.

I can't go into detail publically but Id recomend doing your research on any breeder OR rescue before adopting. I've seen adoption horror story's first hand. Even from one of the rescues listed in this very thread. We all know why you should research a dog breeder buy many fail to realize that there are allot of scummy rescue groups out there too. Many will "rescue" all the older dogs that dont get sold froma pet store that buys from puppy mills. This practice supports puppy mills not discourages them. The puppymill will now fill all those empty cages. Other "rescues" import dogs from the carribeian. Often times these dogs fail a proper behavioral exam but get passed anyway because the group does not want to euthanize because that has to be reported to the state each year and is info available to the public. High euthanasia rates look bad for rescue groups. Regarding Texas dogs, personally I'd hold off on adopting any of them for a few weeks at least. There are many stories of people who were separated from their dogs during Katrina (not people who abandoned their dogs, they should not get their dogs back) and there dogs were adopted out in other states and no attempt to locate the original owner. I personally scanned a Katrina rescue dog that had a microchip from Louisiana and New Jersey. The Louisiana owners were the original owners and really wanted their dog back and we're pissed to find that it was adopted out to another person in living in New Jersey. The dog hot scared and jumped out of the rescue boat. Just some food for thought

Many of you have already seen this article which was first posted on Canada Free Press. This was written by one of SAPPA's founding members. Please sign the petition which is referenced in this article. Here is where you can see TPATH's posting of it and where you can download it in PDF. http://www.tpath.org/two-enemies.html By the way, testing the shoe, usually let's one discover if it fits.

I kind of side with the SPCA or Humane Society... private rescues can be a pain in the balls to deal with. My girlfriend works with horses, and was looking for a dog that would be at the barn with her. Private rescues... "a dog needs a small fenced in area for play." At that time, she was working at an all girls high school, which had a large equitation program... so a large barn and 50+ acres of fields. That is unacceptable to them. Prior to us meeting, I was trying to adopt from Puppy Love; they do things at Petsmart. My previous dog was an outside dog... hated going inside. The girl I talked to made me out to be a scumbag because I didn't force the dog to be an inside dog. I told her if the dog wants to spend time outside, she would go outside for as long as she wants. "How does the dog know what's best for her?" [emoji15] In regards to that rescue, their foster homes are very good people, but the people making decisions are very shortsighted. They turn people away that would make good owners, because they have very high standards for dog ownership. It is a sample size of one (two if you count the Maryland one with my girlfriend; she took a dog from a friend that brought him back from the Virgin Islands), but reason why I still suggest the SPCA. The adoption costs are usually cheaper, as well.

That class action suit is ripe for the taking. All it takes is a statewide 2A group with the funds& assertive balls to put out a email blast. ANJRPC comes to mind, they have the statewide part but not sure about the other parts. And not that I endorse any compensation for confiscation but IF it came to that and the state had to come up with a plan you can be sure it will be extremely under-funded and under-estimated, in other words the numbers would need to be greatly minimized/doctored to pass any legislature then suddenly they run out of money....ooops. oh well. But that will never happen -NJ doesnt even grandfather, why would they pay us for confiscation?

There are insanely long threads with insanely long detailed posts, by me, on not having a matching d/l and FPID. I won’t rehash it here but I’ll simply tell you that anyone who says they need to match is full of shit, misinformed, doesn’t understand the law or just plain wrong. You just need to reside at the addresses you provide In other words it’s not an excuse not to update FPID if you no longer live at the address on it. If you live in two states everything is fine. Your state of residence on any given day is the one you are in. Read form 4473 it’s all in there. Thanks to Smokin .50.

Howard this is an excellent point! Anthony Colandro brought up this exact point when he testified at Charles "Big Booty" Mainor's Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee meeting the same day as 9 year old Shyanne Roberts. He told them he has over 100 guns to rent. They all take standard capacity mags. "Who is going to reimburse me for money I spent for legal property in a valid & taxed business venture" (I'm paraphrasing here from YEARS ago)??

The non-resident NJFPID needs a valid NY state address (in your example here). Every document issued by NJ is tied to some sort of residence where you receive mail. Car titles, NJDL, NJFPID, CDL, Nursing, Social Work, Medical Doctor, Home Inspector, the list is endless. Also, how would I attach a NJ address to a nonresident FID if my license (at that point) would be from a diff state? ^^^Isn't that the entire point? I'd use a stapler
  25. 1 point
Son, you are completely confused. Leave the politics out of the picture for a moment & concentrate on what we're saying to you: Keep your NJ residence listed on a traditional NJFPID card that comes back to Mommmy & Daddy's address. Don't even bother applying for out-of-state NJFPID. Get your NY state firearms credentials & jump thru THEIR hoops as necessary. You can store your Jersey compliant AR (and anything else beside that grenade launcher) at Mommy & Daddy's place. Renew other documents before they expire. Do what Rob says. He lives in TWO states

not for nuthin', but this is the kind of stuff we need to be seeing. it looks to have been stalled for a bit, but it looks like it's taking tiny forward steps. now, if only some powerful pro-2a organization would jump onboard and help these guys out. what the hell's the name of that national rifle association again? i'd bet they could help. and if they did, that'd be certain to get cynical people to sign up........ SAPPA dudes........THANKS MAN!!

I can tell you what's all but certain. I sent my builder in Florida a check last week to draw the plans for my house. I hope to break ground by December. I'm 53 and I don't have another 50 years left to wait for NJ to get sensible. I'm born and raised here and have seen more and more of my rights get taken away. Its time for me to put a plan into action I know that will work. I'll still have to keep my house here for a few more years but I'm on my way.

No other State in the country has the political control over its courts like NJ does. CA and NY are close, but have nowhere near the level of corruption that NJ has. I have been watching this for 23yrs, and I have yet to see a NJ court rule in favor of NJ gun owners, or have I seen any gun legislation repealed in NJ. Some people try to argue that Christie loosened gun regulations in NJ, but all he did was dress some windows for the national stage. It's a effing joke, period. But, I do hope you are right, and I am wrong.
  36. 1 point
Paranoia! It amazes me to watch NJ gun owners help tie the noose around their own necks. Instead of fighting for your 2A rights by joining a 2A group in NJ, you'd rather spend money complying with a law that doesn't even EXIST! A well-trained lemming couldn't do this any better.
  37. 1 point
You aren't that familiar with the NJ court system, are you? Nothing anti-2A has ever been struck down by NJ or the 3rd circuit courts. And good luck trying to get SCOTUS to hear it.
  38. 1 point
Being Prepared or Being a Slave to Your Master? I'm sure the Liberals will pass a bunch of make them feel good Anti-2A legislation, and it will all be meaningless when an injunction is issued and it is struck down by the Courts. Trump has 3 Vacancies to fill in NJ plus 2 Judicial Emergencies and a dozen Vacancies to fill in the 3rd Circuit as a Whole with one more coming. Most importantly Trump will get 3 nominations to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

almost every rifle and pistol I own has over 10 round capacity. I have at least 5 mags per pistol and countless mags for the AR platform. Who is going to pay me for all those magazines? I already went from 30 to 15.....I'm not going to put up with this shit anymore! They want my mags......... ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
