Such a beautiful piece. I’m honored to own one. The trigger really is as nice as I’ve heard. The bluing is a mile deep. The grips and assorted small parts all seem original to the gun. No box/papers but it does have the letter from Colt’s archives. Built late ‘71 or very early ‘72. Shipped in Feb ‘72 to a dealer in NYC. I am the third owner. It’s had a very easy life. Maybe a few hundred rounds thru it. I plan on adding a few to that number. No too many, but a few.

I agree with you 100%. Here you had a group of knowledgeable women who discussed, among other things, the empowerment that firearms can provide for women who choose to own them and the entire subject was avoided. Disgraceful!

I've said repeatedly... the 2A side needs to PUSH women to the front of all media events. It makes it VERY difficult - in today's environment - for people to argue AGAINST a woman's right to self-defense. That's EXACTLY why they didn't include any of it on the show, I'm certain!

Sanctimonious, virtue-signaling twits who don't seem to realize that CAREER CRIMINALS are the threat, not us. Some may be well-intentioned, but they're still grossly misinformed. Things are going to get ugly if this cabal is influencing the legislation.

Kind of surprised that the Times ran an op-ed that was pro-gun. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/12/opinion/politics/background-checks-gun-violence.html

Next time I spend my summer weekends canvassing neighborhoods collecting signatures for Recall Sweeney or volunteering making calls on behalf of the NRA during the governor's race or volunteering for Kim's "Get Out The Vote" campaign I'll make sure to look for you among the other volunteers.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. No mention of men or women above....Just people! Women are no different than men when it comes to guns! I for one am very happy that more and more women are finally coming to that realization!

Per a Facebook post, seven members of The Well Armed Woman went to an NRA range in Virginia to meet with 60 Minutes and talk about the increased number of women involved with firearms. They said that they gave a full day of interviews and discussion, and none of it was used on the show. I guess "they" are afraid that acknowledging that more women are involved with firearms these days goes against their agenda. Women + firearms = less scary?

I haven’t liked a single gun made by Remington made since they were bought by Freedom Group. The quality is lacking. The only Remington’s I would buy are older pre Freedom Group guns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know the above title will be met with an immediate tidal wave of groaning, kvetching and general bitching from a certain segment of you. However, for those of you who are more evolved than the Neanderthals referenced above, this is a friendly reminder that Valentine's Day is this Wednesday... racing up oh-so-fast! But, there is still ample time to arrange thoughtful gestures --- dinner reservations, flowers, jewelry, chocolate, event tickets... whatever you think your honey would particularly enjoy. Why not step it up a little this year... make it extra-special? Remember: the phrase happy wife, happy life came about for very good reasons! You're most welcome!

This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0742B9DY9/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0742B9DY9&pd_rd_wg=TaLBS&pd_rd_r=62QQT219ASCQB0QB3DPQ&pd_rd_w=4TJkV Expensive, yes but worth it. They seal much better than my old Howard Leight set and are not as bulky as the Pro Ears (also very good) I do double up when indoors with foam plugs. You can get 50 for about $7 on Amazon.

I went a long time before I got a quality 22 DA revolver. I picked up a 617 at a bargain price. I shoot that 22 handgun more than any other since.

Sounds like a hell of an idea! May I recommend a lovely Glock 19?

You're all giving me an idea. It'll be a little late, but I'm going to apply for a few P2Ps and buy myself something nice and shiny for Valentine's Day. Something in a 9mm... It's been 6 years since my husband passed away and I've tried to sleep through holidays. Yup, a nice shiny (or not shiny) gun should help!

Funny story, years back (when I was young, thin and hot, LOL)... I was on business travel in Dallas. It was like another planet. Men wouldn't just open the door... Noooooo, they'd RUN to get the door, tip their hats, give you a big smile and a "howdy", flirt a little. It was VERY good for a girl's ego! I won't lie... relocation to TX crossed my mind!

So, as promised I am giving you my follow-up report. I was dressed in Business attire on my way home from work and stopped by my local PD. I was greeted by a friendly woman and told her I would like an application for a concealed carry permit. Her smile washed away and the questions started. Are you a ret LEO- me No Are you a a Jeweler-me No Are you a security blah blah blah- me No Her- we NEVER have given an approval here ever. Me- That's ok. Here's the app and it must include specific photos, filled out and signed in front of a notary, along with $50 app fee and you must use XYZ for fingerprints More $. Her-But I told you no one has ever been approved. I said thank you, see you in a few days. My take is this is a cultural thing with these people and how DARE you challenge us....I'll be back. I expect to be part of every lawsuit that happens. People, you either stand for your beliefs and do this or take a seat in the stands to watch. I Prefer to be in the 3% that will stand up to tyranny. What will you do?

I think the spin that angered me the most in this presentation was the effort of 60 Minutes to make it look like all police are against citizen carry. That carries a lot of weight with a populous that respects the law enforcement community. I think what your average Joe doesn't realize is that the opinion represented by the LEO's on the show was that of the upper echelon - chiefs, commissioners etc. Those that are political appointees and have to espouse the party line in order to keep their jobs. They would get a totally different result if they polled the rank & file officer. The ones on the street that interact with the community on a daily basis. Here is an interesting survey that I ran across, that makes that point very well... https://www.policeone.com/gun-legislation-law-enforcement/articles/6186552-Police-Gun-Control-Survey-Are-legally-armed-citizens-the-best-solution-to-gun-violence/ Nothing on that show was unexpected but it was disappointing nonetheless. Adios, Pizza Bob

Aren't you the same one who was asking about going to another state and buying long gun there without NJ FPID ? Let me repeat the response again. Law abiding citizens follow State and Federal Laws. Criminals don't. There is no loophole. Criminals don't drive all the way to some gun show to take advantage of a non-existing "loophole". They can buy stuff they want at the corner in Newark or Camden, no problem. And you can thank Democrats for that situation.
