I agree Bob & hopefully I'll get some more trigger time in with this NRA Expert in Muzzleloading Rifle! He's gonna be 30 this August. My greatest achievement! Shooting with him on Father's Day is more important than making a monthly NJGF Shoot, so that's why I mentioned to NOT schedule the NJGF Shoot on a Father's Day. ~R

Not everyone uses their rifles in the same way or for the same reasons. Flat absolute statements of “good enough” may not be for some folks. Just because you don’t have the need to take a shot at 200 or longer doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t. We need to stop assuming everyone has the same frame of reference. The truth is a 50 yard zero does not always equal a 200 yard zero and if you are looking for the ability to make a 200 yard precision shot, which is something the AR platform is completely capable of, you need to confirm at distance.

It’s not if you don’t confirm your zero at distances you are likely to engage a target at. It can be off quite a bit. If your using your rifle in a defensive role as life saving equipment and take a 200 yard shot thinking “your good” because you are dead-nuts-on at 50 yards, you are fucked up.

    50 yard zero = 200 zero

So for the 92fs I'd say give it a good clean and check the parts maybe a bad spring or something else. It also could be bad ammo at times. For the AR that one is easy to answer zero moves with distance. If you have ever seen an old military surplus gun they have sliding ladders for distances like 100m, 200m, 300m, etc. I would recommend to zero it at a distance were it will be ok for what you need it to do. A 25 yard and at 100 yards the zeros are different. Why you might ask. I'll put a picture in this comment and hopefully it makes sense

I like the Taser Pulse. Nice feel, very light and is very much like my Glock 43 as far as size, so very concealable. Yes, it's pricy but as noted by others, you can legally carry it and it is at least something in the way of an insurance policy for personal defense while outside the home. The plus model has the ability to send your location via your smartphone to LE should you ever need to deploy it.

I wouldn’t suggest starting reloading rifle rounds at first. There is so much more to it compared to reloading say 9mm. Right now it’s hard to justify laying out the money for all the equipment and supplies while ammo is so cheap. You might be better off taking advantage of the low prices now and “stack it deep.” How much is your time worth to you? You need to also add that into the equation. I have both a progressive and a single stage press and would echo other posters above with starting off with a single stage.

Life saving equipment at 200 yards? I understand if we are talking about being in a warzone BUT if we are talking about defensive use of a rifle for most people, 3 inch difference in POI is not going to make a difference if you are aiming center mass at 10 yards. Or am I missing something?

Hi all. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I'm new forgive me. I just wanted to relate my experience with getting a change of address on my FID and pistol permits in Rutherford. I filled out the online form on a Sunday. Next morning my references got an email to fill out the online reference form. I also received a call from a detective just to confirm I had applied and asked if I had any questions. 18 days later I got another call that I could pick up my FID and permits. The Rutherford PD was polite, courteous, and professional. Everyone I dealt with was great and answered any questions I had. This was a fantastic experience compared to my dealings with another town which took forever and gave me the "why do you need a gun" treatment. Once again, Rutherford PD was a pleasure to deal with, and the detective I talked with apologized for the long wait and said that they were working through some issues with the new online system, and assured me that next time would be faster.

Nice Ray - Bayonne is small enough that you could hit something on the other side of town with a shotgun

The place is a killing field for white farmers. My nurse was SA and the stories she told me. Ya think you made an understatement? Used to be a decent place.

I'm going to use the Track Day analogy for this: I've done several track days, and mostly at the same track/course. The last event I went to they stuck me in the "advanced" class because of my experience (and lack of crashing.) When the call went out for "who wants an instructor" my hand went up. The lead guy for the event looked at me funny and asked "why?" Answer: because there's always something more/new to learn. I'm going to agree with some/most of Maks's comments, except the DD one... tax stamps are a violation in my book.
