3 pointsThis thread is the reason I don't post too much in this section. At the end of the day, it's all supposition & what-if BS. Murphy has his stooges that will bring these bills into committee, where they will most likely die. Sweeney is the key. If it never makes it to the Senate floor for a vote, it DIES. Sweeney was already interviewed & said "we've done enough to gun owners already". Staying alert is great. Pontificating on a forum about what might happen and then not showing up for a real protest means you're just a SMP (Social Media Patriot). We now return to everyone pondering their pending persuasive posturing while presuming to prepare for the positively worse scenario.

2 pointsThat's your Blue Team's Liberal Logic at work. ... and you still vote Democrat, so sad...

1 pointso what exactly is it that you get high on to come up with this idea? 1. The state does not have enough money to pay the pensions of those who have already retired. The state government does not need to continue to increase its manpower, especially in the 2A rights infringement department. 2. They won't collect enough in taxes from this to cover the salaries of additional employees, health insurance coverage for those workers and their families and the training and equipment for those new positions. 3. Even if they did collect enough in taxes to add new state employees, the democrats would NEVER add them with the sole purpose of employment to be to speed up FID and NICS checks. You really propose that this state, which perpetually attempts to punish those who seek to exercise their 2A rights, would actually hire more people with the specific purpose of helping the 2A community? It's a miracle they just started using an electronic process to get a pistol purchase permit. If they were able to collect enough taxes off of this to justify new employees, I bet my left leg they would be allocated to some other department or some other purpose long before they use them toward anything remotely associated with improving the conditions of the 2A community. This state would take that money and give it to illegal immigrants as an incentive for moving here long before they decide to do something that would intentionally allow us to benefit from it.

1 pointIve found decent bagels and there is a deli up here that has PORKROLL! They call it "Jersey porkroll" lmao But the pizza and Italian food in general up here sucks
-
1 pointI hear ya John. Being in FL for almost 4 1/2 years, I miss a lot of food from NJ. I have found a pizza place and a bagel place here that gets their dough shipped from Brooklyn. The bagel place even has bialys which are decent. They say it's the water, but probably easier to have dough sent then water. Agree, Panera bagels are good, as are the bagels from BJs. BJs here also carries pork roll

1 pointAgree. But I'm sure other morons have slid into their place. The ones that weren't old enough to vote in 16'.

1 pointThis is true.. Remember, like 80% of Millennials (the ones with the debt I mentioned in the article above) voted for Socialist Bernie, because he promised FREE everything... and he's running again, along with many MORE Socialist candidates.. I keep telling you people, if the economy melts down before the 2020 election (which by the looks of data and trends, it will), a Socialist promising all this free crap can win! Plan accordingly..

1 pointThank you! That should be obvious... but not to a CNBC reporter (obviously). This whole trend of people blatantly trying to shirk paying their college debt ticks me off. What irresponsible schmucks are we raising these days? If you don't want a bunch of debt... the formula is simple: think long and hard about whether college is even the best choice for you (as others have mentioned, there are other tracks), but if you DO choose college: give due weight to affordability (state schools, commutable locations, 2 years at community college, etc.) give Dept of Labor and demographic projections ample consideration while selecting your major, so that you're moving with trends and not against them avail yourself of college experiences that give you a leg-up on other candidates upon graduation (e.g., summer internships, co-ops, etc.). And, if you do the opposite of all that... don't expect Mr./Ms. Taxpayer to pick up the tab for your silly-ass, poor choices.

1 pointTruer words were never spoken. If you are just going to use this as a range gun - stand in one place and shoot at stationary targets, fine - just about any combo will do. But, if you intend to try some gun games, or actually carry this as a defensive hand gun, there is a huge learning curve and you have to devote yourself to lots of practice to get even semi-proficient. I shoot IDPA and USPSA and I am amazed at how well the people shooting carry optics do - but in examining who they are, you'll find that most are top-tier shooters and do put in a ton of practice. I am at a point where I have become a collector of arms - not necessarily a user of all I purchase. I bought this (P226 Elite Rx SAO) because it was at a good priced and I wanted to try an optic. I have two revolvers with red dots, but they have only been used for static shooting. I was in for a rude awakening when I attempted to use this at an IDPA match - went right back to my revolvers (but not looking to get rid of it). So, if you are going to get a handgun with an optic, and plan to use it for anything other than static range use, be ready to dedicate yourself to a lot of practice. Adios, Pizza Bob

1 pointThere is a market for communications majors, though I don't know how it compares to the number of students majoring in communications. Any company of any size will have a corporate communications department (could be one person, could be a few dozen), and media companies tend to hire a lot of them. The history degree would only be viewed as a plus for some small fraction of those jobs, but a second major, like a minor, wouldn't be viewed as a negative. Continuing the Chad Haag quote that Sniper began, I was bothered by: "More than 9,000 miles away from Colorado, Haag said, his student loans don’t feel real anymore. “It’s kind of like, if a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, does it really exist?” he said." The CNBC article seems to paint Haag as some kind of clever folk hero, but to be clear: Haag is an irresponsible deadbeat.

1 pointYou have to realize that gun control is what you do instead of something. When politicians are polling poorly, or getting hammered on whatever in the news, that's when they go for gun control. Nobody is too happy with Murphy, so that's why he goes gun control. Positive press.

1 pointI am not sure what you mean by "fantasy of room clearing"... if someone broke into my home.. if there was some loud noise in the night.. I would grab my gun.. and investigate.. I am not putting on body armor.. NVG.. etc.. it feels like your attempt to mock.. but I am not really sure.. I simply stated why I choose a carbine... I don't care if you use a bolt action 22.. a 357 revolver.. it literally makes no difference to me.. if you want to blow holes through the side of your home with slugs in a 12 gauge no worries.. have at it.. my carbine has an optic.. has more rounds than my handgun... is on a sling so lets me easily use both hands if I need to without worrying about holstering unholstering.. is less likely to kill the neighbor if a round goes through the wall (I live in a townhouse).. I am personally WAY more accurate and comfortable with a carbine... lastly the reason I posted the over penetration bit was simply to address your recommendation that a 45 is good when over penetration is a concern.. as I do not think that is a good recommendation..
-
1 pointIMO the ability for a round to do damage after passing through an interior wall is more a byproduct of mass than velocity.. 45 is probably the opposite of what you want.. .223 is a small light right traveling at high velocity... once the round contacts something it lacks the necessary mass to continue to do substantial damage to additional targets... additionally a handgun is not even remotely equal to a SBR for defense.. stability of a carbine.. ability to run a sling.. blah blah blah.. a carbine is superior in every way.. the only issue is .223 inside a structure is going to be LOUD and bright..
