#1 I would replace the oprod spring with a known good spring. The symptoms of a weak spring are sometimes confused with being under-gassed, because you get such high bolt velocity that it skips the second round or will misfeed. You didn't quite fully explain the details of the malfunction so I don't know if this is more or less applicable. Is the bolt picking up the second round and failing to feed it because it doesn't have enough "oomph"? Or is the bolt picking up the second round and it's jamming? Or is the bolt skipping over the second round completely and returning to battery on an empty chamber? If the port is fouled, gently spin the bit with your fingers as you clean the port. DO NOT USE A POWER TOOL OR A BIT HOLDER. If you're malfunction is from being under-gassed, this is the easy and most likely culprit. Most military surplus .30-06, like the HXP greek, the PS/KA Korean, and the LC is as "garand friendly" as factory ammo gets, from a functioning standpoint. So, I'd rule ammo out of the equation unless you didn't have one of the above "flavors" of surplus. I would say with 90% certainty, if you did both these tweaks, your gun will run. The nice thing is, you should do those two things anyways, so it's a perfect starting point.

Recognizing that grouse populations in the state were declining, the season length and daily bag limit were reduced, and the state was divided into two zones, in 2005, with the southern zone having a shorter season than the northern zone. The closure takes effect immediately. Ruffed grouse populations in the state have declined due to lack of suitable habitat (young-aged forests) which they require. Such forests now comprise less than 1% of the state's forests. Anecdotal reports of hunters seeing grouse have dwindled as forests continue to age due to lack of forest management. Although hunting is not the cause of the decline, and in fact, the number of grouse hunters has a parallel declining trend, the Division and the Fish and Game Council feels that current grouse population levels cannot support a hunt at this time.

A weak OP Rod spring will cause this to happen. AMMOGARAND.COM has an entire spring kit for like $30. Make sure to grease the spring when you install it. I'd also just check the op rod for tilt, a slightly bent rod can be the cause, but rare. If you tried different ammo It's probably not that. Took the morning off to spend time with my oldest son (he's home from college) so we hit the Sheepdog Warrior range and we had a blast. The scenery is gorgeous, the targets were freshly painted, and the range well-maintained. I have no idea how long it takes Ed to clear the brush to keep the lines of sight open, but he does a great job. Other than my son's introduction to "scope bite" it was a perfect way to spend a morning off from work! I spoke briefly with Ed the owner to see if there was progress with the constant legal actions from the neighbor, but it's still more of the same. I really enjoy shooting there so I hope the neighbor decides to give it a rest soon.

Isn’t this exactly what we constantly say needs to happen to get our legitimate point regarding personal protection across to the other side? This is not a flip-flop. This is not a “It is good for me and not for thee” moment. This is, “Holy Shit! Violence happens with a quickness. You need to be able to protect yourself. Your safety is your responsibility! Ford could have just as easily hired bodyguards or requested an ISP protection detail/driver and been silent on the topic. Instead he learned from his experience and realized he is no more special than anyone else.

Maybe a problem with your operating rod spring, you may want to replace that. It could also be that your gas cylinder or operating rod end is out of spec (worn) and that will cause issues with ftf/fte. Other causes could include a bent operating rod, or a receiver that is not straight (common with reweld receivers).

Eh, why criticize this? It is a double standard when he's clearly encouraging OTHERS to do it too? Rather than a political flip-flop, the incident might have been a "wake-up call" for the guy. Lots of people are anti-gun... until something violent happens to them... they witness the lightning-fast speed during which it unfolds (seconds, not minutes)… and they realize, "wow, the cops could never have gotten here on time". That's a sobering thought. If getting his car shot up is what it took to get Rep. Ford to pick up the clue phone and realize that legal gun owners and concealed carriers are NOT the problem... so be it! Let's just take the win.
