Hello from North Hanover

Recommended Posts

I live in North Hanover, just outside of Ft. Dix and McGuire AFB. Was looking around online for anywhere that could tell me why my FID card is taking so long, and if this is normal and stumbled across this site. I put in for it 6 months ago, and I am still getting the run around when I call. Im 24, work currently doing security, while I look for a career. I have never owned any firearms, however I visit my uncle in Maine where we shoot his arsenal of WWII weapons (M1 Carbine, Garand, M1911, Mauser K98, as well as his AR, AK, and whatever else he has picked up recently.) I do a bit of trap shooting in my area, and plan on joining the Ft. Dix range once I pick up something. I will be looking for a shotgun first, and eventually a Garand or a K98 of my own. Other than that, I look forward to learning from this site (there is alot of reading for the next few weeks for me on here)

Have a good one,

Jon

welcome Jon. do tell us about your chevy. =P

we have a gto guy here, I was a camaro guy. I see no Ford or Mopar represenation here yet... only Guberment Motors.

 I am a mopar guy too, dont worry. Ive got a few Mopars laying around, and working on a few with my dad.

The Chevelle is obviously a 64, but its a true SS convertible. 327 (.030 over w/speed-pro pistons, voodoo cam, 2.02 Dart heads, Performer RPM intake manifold, Holley 750 DP, Hooker Competition headers through a custom exhaust, and some other goodies) 4speed with a 12bolt w/ 4:10s. I have owned it for 10 years now. I bought it when I was 13, I asked my dad if I made the money, if I could buy the car...so I cut grass like a maniac and bought it for $700 as a rolling chassis. I got it done a few years ago, wiped a TH 350-tossed another one in, got bored and went with a 4speed. I love it now.

That picture was taken just in May this year, down in Ocean City Maryland for the big car show.

Gtonut, I am interested in hearing about the 67! My dad owns a 68 convertible that we are going to start on soon.

Welcome, I considered a security job in the Lakehurst area a few months back.

Where was this? Its an okay job, I enjoy it sometimes, its a job

Awesome Car! Very nice!

Max....how dare you say there is no ford representation here?????

my album

I'm going thru the difficult task of moving them all to a different warehouse for a while. I'm expanding the garage they are currently in. Don't want them hanging around during construction, accident waiting to happen.

Anyone want to help??? I need drivers! Next few weeks we should be starting construction. BTW, planning board politicians and zoning board politicians are worse than anti-gun politicians....talk about corruption!!!!!!!!

hey man what's up, im 25 also working security looking for a career. I'm from howell and i've found this sight a little while ago and am still new, it took approx. 90 days to get my permit and FID. But due to high applications being turned in due to the current administration, im sure it will take much longer to process this. They probably have double than normal applications and investigations to work on.

Howell has always been very gun friendly and getting permits done quickly. I have not applied recently though. I will be this week.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, its in decent shape, once its gone over thoroughly I will get it to the range and see how well she shoots. Ive got some learning to do about it. I am not sure the history on it, I would love to find out, however that is probably impossible! I bought it from Harry's Army Navy in Robbinsville.
