High Exposure 5,668 Posted October 7, 2013 Caught this shot of my buddy shooting my AR with the Troy Medieval brake. That's quite a fireball. Yikes! Keep in mind, ammo plays a pretty big role in the presence or lack of flash. What where you shooting?

High Exposure 5,668 Posted October 7, 2013 Sorry, fat fingered the "h". What were you shooting? As in what ammo. Some ammo, like most LEO Duty offerings, have flash reducers in the powder while some ammo, like most training/cheaper ammo doesn't.
fishnut 2,358 Posted October 7, 2013 I was not there but am a member so I recognize the range. My AR shoots flames when I shoot XM193
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted October 7, 2013 I know pmc has a lot of flash. I picked a case federal on Friday that's suppose to have reduced flash. I'll be testing it out this week hopefully. I'm interested to see if there is that much of a difference Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

My spikes is supposed to be known for its fireballs as well, but I've never noticed it.

Lalo 13 Posted October 8, 2013 What where you shooting?I was shooting good old Herters 55gr steel cased 223. Here is a vid I just uploaded of me shooting the same rifle. Not all shots had a fireball, but I guess that kind of inconsistency is to be expected from cheap ammo. Ran through about 250 rounds through two ARs, no malfunctions. ETA - I guess I can't link a video tonight. /ipad

High Exposure 5,668 Posted October 8, 2013 We use the Federal T223L TRU 64gr SP as duty ammo in our long guns. It is good stuff - accurate, low flash/low smoke, does well through intermediate barriers, and expands well.

Rob0115 1,105 Posted October 11, 2013 Just finished this on Saturday night... Is that the magpul fixed stock? I really like the look better than the RRA A2 operator. Standard buffer and tube or a rifle setup?
azmaveth 1 Posted October 11, 2013 Is that the magpul fixed stock? I really like the look better than the RRA A2 operator. Standard buffer and tube or a rifle setup? Yes, that's the magpul fixed carbine stock. They have for both commercial and milspec carbine buffer tube.
