I like all three, but I haven't handled the first two. What do you shooty boys like?
pronoun 1 Posted November 7, 2010 I always get warm and tingly when I see an SXS shotgun. Then again, "grandma, what big tacticools you have!"
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted November 7, 2010 Yeah, I like all 3 but I can only choose one for now. I'd love to feel the SXP before I commit.
kenw 293 Posted November 7, 2010 I like the stoeger. It's sort of a neo-retro evolution of the old Western coach gun. Pretty cool shotty. Not the most practical, but you already have practical taken care of.
FFDP82 4 Posted November 7, 2010 Man if only that 887 was an autoloader....
Blcklightning 11 Posted November 7, 2010 Stoeger for the interesting/ coolness factor. The 887 is an overly fancy/ tacticool 870. The winnie looks funny, like a toy.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted November 7, 2010 Why not a Mossberg 930 Tactical? http://www.mossberg.com/products/default.asp?id=32&display=specs
kenw 293 Posted November 7, 2010 Ray is violently anti-Mossberg.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted November 7, 2010 I know - that's why I had to suggest it!
fliks 20 Posted November 7, 2010 I've got a soft spot for a double barrel side by side - all because of a Russian cartoon hunting dog. The Remmy is nice, but you already have a tacticool Remington. the Winchester looks "blah". my useless vote: get the Stoeger.
vjf915 456 Posted November 7, 2010 Oh well if you already have a tactical Remington, I will also vote for the Stoeger.
djg0770 481 Posted November 7, 2010 Mossberg. FTW.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted November 7, 2010 I'm really thinking Stoeger since I already have a tacticool pump. But I am a big Remmy fan. I also want a Winchester! I'm in trouble here.
matt6669 71 Posted November 7, 2010 how about none? They are all stupid and ridiculous

Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted November 7, 2010 If it had to be one of those 3, the winchester. Shoulda made a poll.
lunker 274 Posted November 8, 2010 This should satisfy your Remmy fix. A well maintained autoloader is no less reliable than a pump with game or home defense loads. I have the 22" barrel from the Tac4 on my 1100 Classic Trap. I keep it clean and oiled, and it has never failed me with a hunting load of buck or bird. http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model-1100/model-1100-tac-4.aspx http://www.remingtonle.com/shotguns/1187.htm
tony357 386 Posted November 8, 2010 That 1187 with the 14 inch barrel is smoki'n... dam state..
Caine 147 Posted November 8, 2010 Between the 3, another vote for the SxS. The other 2 don't really do anything that your 870 doesn't already do well, and while a "tactical" SxS is kind of silly, I always wanted to try that gun

I WANT IT! And unlike another poster here, whom i will not name, it's a good choice as a SECONDARY home defense gun. And It'll be fun to shoot!
tbtrout 141 Posted November 8, 2010 A SxS is a viable HD gun. I don't particulary care for the Tactical Double, but hey, it's your money.

Your limiting yourself to two rounds, bad idea. I'd rather see you use that kelcrap instead of a SxS for home defense
jruch87 6 Posted November 8, 2010 I had the stoeger for about 2 weeks and had nothing but problems with it. Would only fire off of one chamber, sent it to stoeger they sent it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Test fired it both rounds fired at the same time then went back to only firing one chamber. Mine might of been a lemon but I wouldn't recommend one.

I'd rather see you use that kelcrap instead of a SxS for home defense Why is it that every purchase I make or I might make you have to crap on it? Cx4, Keltec, charter arms (justified), and this doube gun? Dude, I don't do it to anything you buy. What is your effing deal? And to answer your question, a SxS is a viable home defense option! It took 2 rounds for the guy in Texas to drop 2 home invaders and it took 2 rounds for the Coastie in NYC to drop 3 crooks. How's that for a little proof for ya! Ray Ray 3,566 Posted November 11, 2010 Well, ordered the double gun but it's down to either the 887 or Stoeger. We'll see when I hold'er if I want the double or the tacticool plastic monster!
