This is what passes for a Republican in New York???? Doesn't this jackass realize that a law like this would just make events like last Saturday more frequent???

So.. the law on the books prohibits you from murdering someone correct?

that law was obviously completely ignored..

but if you make a law baring guns in an area..

then no one will be able to shoot someone because they won't be able to legally carry a gun close enough..

sometimes I think that completely ignoring logic is a prerequisite to becoming a successful politician..

Instead of a gun-free zone around politicians... I suggest a politician-free zone around our guns.

Right. Pass a law keeping them 1000 feet from citizens. (Yes, I know that's a stupid idea.) Just put them in "bullet proof" glass cages when they go out in public. Like gorillas.

And King is usually more normal than the rest of the crowd. :icon_rolleyes:

He's always been like this when it comes to guns though. He was the token Republican to support giving the Attorney General the power to make secret lists and prevent you from buying a gun because you're on it. Oh, and you would have no way of knowing you're on it except that you get refused at a NICS check. And you have no legal recourse to remove yourself from that list if it's there in error. Scary, scary stuff..

I see it as a lesser of 2 stupids. Either ban magazines which hold more than 10 rounds or ban guns within 1000 ft of politicians (which most of us can't do anyway, since we don't have CCW). I swear some gun owner who's terminally ill might just flip one day and say F Lautenberg or whoever else. I don't want to be anywhere near 1000 ft of these politicians when bullets start flying.

Just another example of these people forgetting that they are not of a ruling class. They are "citizen legislators, no more important than the people they represent and shouldn't be treated as such.

If they did as the Founders intended, served a term or two and then go back to their private life, instead of becoming full time politicians, we probably wouldn't have these problems with people so full of themselves and their own warped view of self-importance.

Hey I have a better idea, how about a law banning morons from serving in Congress... That would seem to be more effective to me...

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in

    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
