Wolfy 51 Posted September 18, 2011 I have not seen anything posted about this rifle which surprised me. Bolt action that takes standard AR-15 mags. http://www.mossberg....ection=products
dajonga 397 Posted September 18, 2011 This gun intrigues me as well. I am not crazy about the varmint look, but I could deal to get a fun bolt gun that take AR mags. A scout rifle version would be super cool. Will wait for more info.
vjf915 456 Posted September 18, 2011 Looks pretty cool. Only downside is that even though it's bolt action, you can still only use 15 round mags since it takes standard AR mags. Plus side is that the mags will still be relatively cheap.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted September 18, 2011 Good idea, +1 for Mossberg to put out interesting products. This could be a big seller since everyone and his brother has a black rifle.
Caine 147 Posted September 18, 2011 It's a good idea on Mossberg's part - 5.56mm chamber + AR mags = WIN. But, they slightly missed the mark IMHO. Most of the "black rifle" guys (myself included) aren't gonna be very interested in a 24" varmint rifle. A 20" version with a 1/7 or 1/8 barrel that can handle heavier 77gr bullets would be much more interesting.

civictuner04 6 Posted September 18, 2011 the question is how shitty is the trigger gonna be? i dunno why but i have 2 mossberg rim fires and the trigger on both are garbage
robot_hell 72 Posted September 18, 2011 I'd buy it. I want it in black though.
Wolfy 51 Posted September 18, 2011 This rifle clearly was designed as a backup to the AR. I agree light and short would make more sense. How many of us are going to engage someone 200+ yards away? If you have that much distance retreat. I don't own a black rifle but am interested in one of these. JIK

alowerlevel 77 Posted September 19, 2011 They need to make a 20" barreled one in 7.62x51 and then Id buy one
vladtepes 1,060 Posted September 20, 2011 Most people with decent AR setups are getting great accuracy so why go to a bolt gun when you can do just about the same while retaining semi auto...
tbtrout 141 Posted September 22, 2011 Most people with decent AR setups are getting great accuracy so why go to a bolt gun when you can do just about the same while retaining semi auto... Because some people enjoy shooting bolt actions.
vladtepes 1,060 Posted September 22, 2011 Because some people enjoy shooting bolt actions. My appologies.... I always forget that sometimes a gun is just an enjoyable hobby piece and not something that must serve a specific role... I guess if u are a bolt gun enthusiast it does have it's appeal! Parker 213 Posted March 12, 2012 the question is how shitty is the trigger gonna be? i dunno why but i have 2 mossberg rim fires and the trigger on both are garbage It has an adjustable trigger (LBA, been around since 2008,) which is screwdriver-adjustable from 2-7 lbs. Similar to the Savage Accu-Trigger (with the small blade in the trigger face.)
Bully 749 Posted March 12, 2012 Sighewa, sent you a PM. I just placed an order for this rifle. Not expecting it for a while. No worries as it will allow me time to save. C

mintbore 15 Posted March 30, 2012 Which model is that? Barrel length? C Model 27700 ~ 24" Barrel. I put a Nikon Monarch 3-12SF on it. So far I've shot some Prvi 50 gr, Rem 55 gr through it during break in (results on vid). Next time out I have some Prvi Match 55 and 62 gr. As well as some custom 60 gr V-Max coming out to 100 yds. I'll post results.

Plus side is that the mags will still be relatively cheap. I don't necessarly think this is true. Same deal as people with .50 beowolf uppers. a 20 round .223 mag becomes a 7 (?) round .50 mag. I have an xt-22, The magazine could easily be placed onto a model 60 and then would be an illegal 17 round mag.. I don't think im breaking the law

siderman 1,139 Posted April 6, 2012 Maybe someone can clarify for me why this can't legally take 15+ mags.in NJ. Isnt that restriction for semi-autos only?
Jon 264 Posted April 7, 2012 Maybe someone can clarify for me why this can't legally take 15+ mags.in NJ. Isnt that restriction for semi-autos only? Since it takes AR mags, just having a 30rd AR mag that will work in an AR(assuming you don't even own one) is grounds for prosecution.
siderman 1,139 Posted April 7, 2012 that sux, i prob should have known that. Just for giggles what if Mossberg made a 20-30 rd proprietory mag for this? Think that would get NJ's pantys bunched up?
Jon 264 Posted April 7, 2012 If it were proprietary it could hold 400 rounds and be legal.
