He's right on this one, breast feeding is the healthiest thing for a newborn.

How did many generations got by on formula? Why are peanut and other allergies so rampant?

A man with a infant, wife dies what should he do?

Breastfeeding bad for a kid? Absolutely not, but don't make it out to be the only viable options to raise a child.

I can kin of agree. Depends in the details.

I know when my wife was in the hospital we were bombarded with formula and we had to very specifically tell them no.

The formula companies give the hospitals a ton of free samples. They know that if parents start early on formula they can't start breast feeding. Once on formula they're usually on formula for the duration.

I agree that hospitals should encourage natural breast feeding. Not sure if bloombergs approach is good tho

But you don't need Bloomberg legislating it. Good, or bad, it's none of his damned business.

My wife didn't breastfeed child #1, and probably won't with #2 either. That's her decision, no one else's. 100%+ percentile in everything so far..

My daughter has never been sick other then eating a bad piece of fruit or something, what a mess that was..

I agree it is the family's decision. But it is hard to make a informed decision when the manufacturers, through the hospitals, throw free formula at you. It can be hard to start breast feeding and given all the other stresses at that time it is very easy to accept the formula.

Maybe some sort of legislation is necessary to counter the sheer amount f money the gerbers dump just to get families hooked on formula early on. And by hooked I mean simply that if the mother doesn't start breast feeding early they can't just start later. Which means the formula folks have a dedicated customer for a year+.

Again nothing wrong with formula. If that is the decision you make as parents then cool.

I agree, when we went into the hospital, they asked first thing of she planned too. When she said no, they gave her a pamphlet on breast feeding, and asked her to look over it then make a final decision. She did, and went with formula..

Admittedly the breast is best folks can be just as die hard. And it's just as annoying. But they don't have the backing of a big company with just profit in mind.

This jackass is a power hungry scumbag hypocrite politician, plain and simple. As for the helicopter news clip, I really liked how he skirted the reporter's question and ran away. He knows he is wrong but he's going to do what he wants and no one can tell him otherwise. Everything revolves around him and HE knows whats best for all of us. After all, we can't even be trusted to decide how much soda we can drink....give me a freakin break. And btw, someone should tell him that 30 years ago ( I was 19 at that time) vending machines had 12 oz cans and 10 oz bottles. If there were 6.5 oz bottles like he said, I sure as hell didn't see them.

Way too many of these socialist (I say pseudo fascist) politicians in office these days.

And even that is all ignoring that the only reason is he is still even allowed to be in office is because he essentially overturned the law while he was in office for his benefit. Go figure. I figure toward the end of this year you will see him try and change it again to allow for a 4th term...
