Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted November 23, 2012 I went the last 3 years and this year it was actually more calm, policed was more like it, 10-30 people at a time to go into a section and 10-30 people into target store, to give them a lead time. I didn't go to target so I didn't see how that worked out. But at Walmart 10-30 people at sections of the store worked out pretty good.

Maksim 1,504 Posted November 23, 2012 The sad part is... people were more calm and civilized during September 11th, when I was in the city. Although I will say, things at the malls were very civilized, no issues at macys or sears.
this_is_nascar 162 Posted November 23, 2012 Usually, you have a different class of people shopping at WM than you do at the higher-priced malls. That has allot to do with outcomes like this.

NJKen 23 Posted November 23, 2012 And this is why I try not to buy a dam thing until Monday. Wednesday before thanksgiving is the last time for shopping until the Monday after the weekend is over. WTH is wrong with people anymore? Freaks! Ken
TheSmokingGun 0 Posted November 23, 2012 This is the society we have created. This is consumerism, get-rich, buy stuff culture. Capitalism's dark side. These are the seeds we have sown. This pervades our everyday lives, our politics, every facet of our society. On Black Friday, we get to see it out in the open. And no one really minds. fumanchu182 23 Posted November 24, 2012 Maybe they thought it was the Free Obama phone? Why is it the free Obama phone? Last I read in the history books it was the free Reagan phone, in fact the law was enacted in 1984 with the FCC. First it was used for land lines for low income individuals and now that land lines are almost extinct the technology has moved to mobile devices the law has been adjusted to compensate for the times. This crazy talk about Obama phones makes me puke. Anyway, I picked up a nice 18 gun cabinet today and will do my electronics shopping on Cyber Monday, forget trying to go to a mall. hd2000fxdl 422 Posted November 24, 2012 People fighting over Net10 Prepaid phones at walmart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O6IMYSSs7c&feature=player_embedded#! Absolutely nuts, Exact reason I use my Click through Mall with my Travel Club, not only do I get a discount at a few of the 1000 plus stores and even if I don't get a discount, I still get paid the commission on the sale to my travel account. So my normal shopping pays me to take vacations for free. Free works for me. Heck 4 Toner Cartridges for my Wifes office and our Home HP Laser Jet 1320's , not only did I get New in Box high volume cartridges, my commission was only 19 dollars shy to send me on a 5 day 4 night cruise to down to the islands in the Caribbean. :)
TK421 2 Posted November 24, 2012 Newegg is your friend! I did all my shopping at 1AM Thanksgiving Day morning. 15 minutes to add everything to the cart and click buy. It will all be here Wednesday done! Screw that mess.

Parker 213 Posted November 25, 2012 The FCC has been providing free phones and services to low-income people who qualify since 1984 (the same year the AT&T divestiture was split into seven independent companies ruled on by Judge Greene.) The program was further enhanced by the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (signed by Bubba.) It's not just low-income folks who qualify, but senior citizens and the like. But let's not give Obama any credit for this. Just another program, footed by the U.S. taxpayers. Sadly, most people like those depicted in this video are clueless as to what really goes on in our country. http://newmediajourn...x.php/item/4522 If you really want to become ill, read Senator Tom Coburn's (R-Oklahoma) Wastebook - 2012, a document he produces annually. http://www.coburn.se...c5-8522c7e1a40e

Actually the free phone program that started with land lines was extended to mobile phones under W so it's not just the dems. It started with a republican and expanded to mobile phones under a republican.

Parker 213 Posted November 25, 2012 Actually the free phone program that started with land lines was extended to mobile phones under W so it's not just the dems. It started with a republican and expanded to mobile phones under a republican. Cell phones were included and expanded to the bill under Bush. Reagan was the incumbent seeking election in 1984 when Judge Greene prevailed. And it was no coincidence that telecommunication companies contributed $22 million in campaign contributions from 1995 through 2002. More private money buying public policy. We see those additional charges to pay for this itemized as a universal service fund (USF) charge on our phone bill. My point should have been that the Dem's are always better at promoting themselves, or what they perceive to have created, than the GOP; something the GOP fails to understand this late in the game.
