Here it is, just released - official outline of Dianne Feinstein's new proposed assault weapons ban

Recommended Posts

If this passes then it's time to just say come and take them, let's get this BS over with once and for all. We either have rights or we don't; I'm tired of this crap over and over. They have been on a crusade to take them for over 20 years and I'm done with the nonsense. Either respect our rights or find out why we have them. Not one more inch!

agreed...but in reality how many of these "online specops/keyboard comandos/range ninjas"...can we count on...they talk the talk...but when it comes time to walk the walk....theyre married with kids and a minivan with "too much to lose" and will most likely drop their weapons off at the copshop on the way to billys soccer practice like a good little subject....

Apparently it only takes 3% and I think far more than that are just sick and tired of all the BS like I am. I'm not looking for a fight, I just want to be left the hell alone but if they are not content to do so then I say let's get this over with before I'm too old.

I was originally for mental background checks to keep firearms out of the hands of nut jobs. After the convicted felon shot those poor fire fighters it became clear to me that no amount of background checks are going to stop a motivated criminal. I have officially changed my stance to "not an inch" and "Molon Labe!".

Some here have already admitted doing just this. Hell, these fools made a thread about it!

I've previously posted elsewhere that I am dissatisfied with the NRA's response to Newtown. And I am. But it doesn't matter anymore. The more I read about what's being proposed -- this new AWB proposal, Governor Cuomo's gun confiscation plan, the publishing of gun owners' names and addresses in NY, NJ Assemblyman Cryan's 5 round magazine limit proposal, etc., etc. -- the more I feel that I have no choice but to join the "no compromise" camp and unreservedly support the NRA. I'm a moderate by nature, some might even call me a "RINO", but when it comes to the Second Amendment it appears that there is no room for compromise or even discussion. Sad, really. But when faced with what is a clear attempt to strip our freedoms and turn this country into England and Australia, I really don't think there is a choice anymore.

That is right - the Socialist are not reasonable nor do they play fair...NRA is all we have...Actually, no matter what happens the hard initial stand was the best way to start the bargining (if that is what it comes to).

evil people are going to do evil things....humans have been harming other humans since the begining of time...ive never for one second thought any new law or restriction up to and including total disarmament of america would stop murder....they will still find a way to do it...if its bashing your head in with a rock itll still happen if you dont punish properly

I will do what I can to make sure our 2A rights are not taken away but if you guys think that us with families will have an all out shot out with the police trying to take our guns are nuts. Me explaining to my 2 year old daughter, "Sorry Sweetie, Mommy was caught in the crossfire b/c the police came and Daddy put guns before his family's safety" If this is what you are talking about then yes, I'm spineless.

good thing you weren't around for the American Revolution. Me explaining to my 2 year old daughter. "daddy was going to fight for freedom, but he didn't want to die so we are still trapped under a tyrant king".

I'd like to respond to the "guys that are HELPING" question/statement with only another opinion, this is not fact based. In my view it doesn't have to be the police, it could be anyone with an internet connection. All you need is some college intern or law student posing or lurking on any given gun forums looking for ammo (pardon the pun) to undermine us. That plus the fact that previous language is already out there for a template so all they have to do it clamp down on what they already know to f*** us further. It is likely there is "some" LE influence but I'd bet most of it is coming from consultants hired by the Holders and Feinsteins of the world....

As to the other comments. I wish I could share the optimism of you folks saying because it is such an over-reach it will never pass. I think/they think/ they have the wind to their backs on this and they are All-in, doubling-down and going for the million dollar roll to Win-it-All. Whatever legislation they craft all it is certain to do is create a new class of Outlaws. I hope next time out NRA Wayne could give a better showing than last week. He has to win over the other camp, not us...

Guss you do see that the Socialists will not stop till all your guns are confiscated...NRA-Chief has no choice but to take hard stance...Chemberlin tactics will never work with the Socialists....You think if NRA-Chief wispered sweet nothings in Fienstiens ear she would soften up? Doubt it.

although the your example made me laugh...im not talking about or ever suggested a shootout at all......simply that most people talk a great game...but then when its time to stand up for whats right ...they will make excuses...... as in the thread ray ray linked and just accept the stiripping of our basic constitutional rights because "well ..ok ill do something else i guess"...missing the big picture.. if there were no firearms....criminals woiuld use knives(alot already do ie: china guy hacked up kids same day as ct..in the great gun free safe world) or bows or a hammer...where does the taking away things stop and the real problems get dealt with...seriously

that stupid proposed awb lets say it was in place before ct....it wouldnt have stopped it....the problem is not the gun its the sick people...the criminals that beat their grandmother to death with a hammer...do some jail then get let out,.... to shoot firemen...the solution is to thin the herd...dont store the garbage...destroy it...so it doesnt infect others

You are really comparing gun regulations to the American Revolution. Seriously?? As I said, Not putting my family in danger. I will do everything in the meantime like write Senators, Sign Petitions, Donate to the NRA, pay to be a premier member to a pro 2a website.

I definitely do not believe in taking guns away will help. This goes back to Ray's Quote. If I can send my family to safety if things got that bad would I fight, Probably. But showing up to my house with my family next to me, no way

Firearms were just a part of the revolution. They also had to contend with taxes and some limey bastard hundreds of miles across the sea dictating what they could and could not do. As I see it, right now they are attempting to curtail second amendment rights, taxes are about to jump like crazy, and many of our rights have already been neutered under the umbrella of public safety and national security (Patriot Act, NDAA, etc.). Are we beyond the point of political recourse? Absolutely not. We can still fight this battle with words. However, I can definitely see something like confiscation and mandatory turn ins as a spark that will ignite a fire that has been itching to burn for a long while.

Nah, I was saying it last week. I am glad that some fence sitters are finally waking up to the fact that there cane be NO GROUND GIVEN AT ALL to the Libs on new gun control. Nothing, nada, zip zilch zero. they mean to disarm us, period. They are not even trying to hide it anymore.

As for those of you that will turn in your guns meekly and surrender because of your families, perhaps in some cases that's best. But you are condemning them to live in a country that will make them docile slaves to the powerful. I work in DC a lot these days, and every time I get on 495 to NoVA, it reminds me of the Hunger Games--'No one is hungry in Capital City'--house prices have been rising, unemployment is lower than most places, building is going on at a rapid pace. Sometimes life really does imitate art

pre last awb?..lol

its a great way to boost membership revenue....wave your fist and play the part....then roll over and say you did all you could do and it could be worse....

I’m was only providing my viewpoint and not taking issue with anything said but since you asked if you think NRA Wayne took a hard line stance and gave a great performance last week I would say he looked weak and indecisive. That doesn’t mean I disagree with him, it just means he was foundering in my view. I understand they have our backs against the wall and he was not in a great situation to begin with but if Wayne can’t project the message that we didn’t do anything wrong and that we only put holes in paper and small game and NOT people then maybe someone else should be doing press conferences. if you liked what you seen last week good for you. I'd say he better bring his A-game next time

like NickNJ said, the Brits sensed a war was eminent. So they had the colonists surrender their firearms. What do SOME of the colonists do? They surrendered inoperable or obsolete arms and kept the better ones hidden. I guess you would just as well surrender them all, for safety reasons right?

He did much better on Meet The Press last Sunday - came across with much conviction and made his points really well...He inspired me....We need to get behind NRA - else we are in big trouble.

I was thinking more of the taxation without representation but I see your point. So I will also call out my own ignorance. And did I say anything safety reasons?

sent from hell with a smile.

I agree with you 100%

The gov't cannot make felons out of 88mm households and all we have to do is just say no and begin peppering our legislature and newspapers with emails and calls.

we need to set up a form letter, numbers and get to it.

Does anyone have a form letter they've used in the past?
