alec.mc 180 Posted January 23, 2013 The Clinton-era bill was not renewed by Congress after the Federal Bureau of Investigation and law enforcement agencies reported that it was ineffective in reducing crime. and there it is folks.

jonfoxx 4 Posted January 23, 2013 Well, if we believe everything that the NRA has told us, they don't have the votes to get it passed. If that truly is the case, BRING IT and we'll show them where they're heading right out of the box!
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted January 23, 2013 What amazes me is that these people trully believe in what they say. I realize everyone has their beliefs, usually they are based on something. How does Obama or Feinstein come to the conclusion that "Assualt Weapons" are such evil devices? Has either ever had to look-down the muzzle of one? Has their family members/friends been involved in some sort of incident regarding firearms? I think people like them just get so wrapped-up in a belief that it consumes them, they know no better. They think they are acting rationally, but in all reality it is them that are acting irrational.

jackandjill 683 Posted January 23, 2013 What amazes me is that these people trully believe in what they say. They wouldn't in positions they are if they truly believed in what they say. They also never act in emotion. Everything they do is tied to an agenda that's already on the books with certain benefit.
EX Carnival man 223 Posted January 23, 2013 Its not good news. I was hopping it was still a few months away. Even Bill Clinton warned them about this. I hope a backroom deal was not made like they did to extend the debt ceiling until May. It seems our Republicans friends are spineless.

Malsua 1,422 Posted January 23, 2013 How does Obama or Feinstein come to the conclusion that "Assualt Weapons" are such evil devices? Despite what you might think, they know the ban was ineffectual as to it's stated purpose. It's unstated purpose was incremental gun control to set a precedent that guns can be selectively banned. They're not stupid. They know the stats and the score. AWB is a stepping stone of incrementalism. They would be quite happy if we were like jolly ole England where every double barrel shotgun is registered and tracked and handguns are not in the hands of the common folk. It starts with rifles that arguably AREN'T the problem and if they can legislate that away, getting bans for cause (handguns) won't be far behind. Of course in 1994 all the gun banners lost their job so that part of the script was broken, but they're ready for the next round.

REQUIEMnJADED4U 0 Posted January 23, 2013 Few politicians are our friends, doesn't matter what party they are affiliated with. Our Republican "friends" in NY proved this a couple of weeks ago when they voted against law abiding responsible gun owners.

I am sure they haven't, but friends of the Clinton's have for their knowledge of political scandals like whitewater. And Obama's pal Bill Ayers knows how to build bombs, so that's something, right?
