USPSA @ OBRPC - 6/23/13

Recommended Posts

Probably dumb question but just want to confirm: I'm going to shoot production with a Glock 19. I can use an OEM extended slide stop, but not a Vickers slide stop, right? Easy to swap them around, just don't want to show up with the wrong gear.

you can use either you will not be questioned at a local match. I am not sure about the legality of it, but I would guess since its and exterior change you would be correct that it's not allowed in Production, but like I said you will be fine use what you are more comfortable with an shoot production.

Well he can't now cause we know about it.

The factory one is the correct answer.

In! Will be my first time trying USPSA.

be sure to get there early and let the match director know that you are new so they can go trough the safety briefing with you

I'm a maybe. I've bee wanting to try uspsa but I gotta find time to make some ammo. What's the typical round count?

typically around 200 rounds, be safe bring 300 in case your miss alot, or need to do a reshoot or 2

I'm in...Hydrate!  It'll be a hot one.  I usually bring 300 to OB.  Alec will design a stage with some 4" plates at 25 yards!!!!  LOL!!

I designed a pretty bad ass stage for this month, no steel this time around. my only hints are:

Darn, I hate to miss this one but I'm going deep sea fishing instead.  I've enjoyed the last 2 stages you put up especially the last one.  There was definitely lots of surprises.  We started on your stage last time and the first two shooters completely missed targets while running.

I'm a maybe - see how my leg feels.  Damned Sciatica

It does suck and the only way I got rid of it and not saying it will work for you, but mine lingered on for over 2 months till I did this.

I woke up took 4 Tylenol, 2 hours later I took 4 Aleve, 2 hours later 4 more Tylenol, 2 more hours and 4 Aleve and repeated for the day. Yes it's a high dose and I wouldn't drink any alcohol a day or 2 before or after. I also wouldn't recomend doing this for more than a day, but I will say, in less then 24 hours all my pain was gone and has been since 2008.

I thought MasterBlaster went out of business in 2009? (see how many even know what I am talking about)

I will miss yet another one. I will be working but wishing I was there!

    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
