ryan_j 0 Posted August 20, 2013 For the love of God, why? I know people have been pointing them at aircraft but limiting them to 1mw wouldn't fix that. http://nj1015.com/laser-pointer-ban-on-christies-desk/
AlexTheSane 236 Posted August 20, 2013 The sun is capable of temporarily blinding drivers, should we ban that too?

Howard 538 Posted August 20, 2013 At least the 1mw limit is not applying to lasers designed for guns - go figure.
voyager9 3,443 Posted August 20, 2013 The sun is capable of temporarily blinding drivers, should we ban that too? A new Bill has been submitted to the Assembly:
Fred2 367 Posted August 20, 2013 Just another example of the government banning the tool, not the action. Why do they hate freedom so much?
Arbelest 29 Posted August 20, 2013 I know a lot of shore towns ban the use of lasers but not the possession of it. They made it a nuisance ordinance so people would stop pointing it at others and running it across their eyes, but it is totally ok to have one. That's how it should be. 10X 3,321 Posted August 20, 2013 But... but they can take down an airplane! They are a real problem for pilots...much more so than the imagined threat the .50 BMG round would ever be. I think the legislation came about because of numerous incidents targeting police helicopters. Those tend to get more attention from the congresscritters.
