Unrealistic WTS ads

Recommended Posts

I feel like I come across ads like this at least once a week in the marketplace:

WTS a few items:

1. LNIB* Custom S&W M&P15 Sport-
*only 6,700 (unverifiable) rounds of my own reloads through it.

This started as your standard CA compliant AR, but I've added the following:

-Daniel Defense free float handgaurd
-Troy Squid grip inserts x42
-45 degree offset Magpul BUS
-DPMS detachable carry handle/BUIS
-Magpul B.A.D. lever
-Streamlight TLR-1
-NcStar compact Tactical RDS (Just for looks. This rifle is so sweet [3 MOA @ 25 meters, homey!], optics are unnecessary).
-Homemade paracord 4 point sling
-Zombie green cerakote, which I did myself. Twice. (The first coat looked a little drippy).

Price: $2,575. NO LOWBALL OFFERS!!
I overpaid for everything, so between the orginal rifle ($950 +tax +NICS) parts, my labor and range fees/ammo used to function test each upgrade, I have at least $2,600 in this build.

Trades considered:
-Ed Brown .38 Super 1911 (NIB only, even trade).
-Sig 516 G2 Carbon (NIB only, must add cash).

Also for sale:

2. LNIB GLOCK 19 Gen 3 (no magazines)- $725 firm

3. 5 15/30 pmags- $35/each or $175 for all 5

4. PSA blem lower (pictogram)- $95

5. PSA blem lower (safe/fire), muddy girl cerakote- $190

6. 234 rounds of Remington Thunderbolt .22lr (rare!)- $40

7. 500 rounds of Ultramax remanufactured 9mm- $300 (will NOT break-up)

Cash/Money order only.
All sales require matching FPID/DL. P2P for GLOCK.

Face to face only, Wednesdays between 9:30-11:00AM.

Location not listed (because PerSec bro).
We can meet at my local Dick's for payment. Once I have cash/trade in hand, you can follow me to my buddy's farm where I shoot (about 1 hour drive, depending on traffic) to receive your items.

PM any questions (though really, it's all been covered).
Pictures and/or location of Dick's provided upon request and partial payment (Min 50%, payable via money order sent to a P.O. Box).

Serious inquiries only! I'm busy and don't have time to d!ck around with @$$holes.

That has to be a joke, right?

Exaggerated for comedic value.

But some ads are not far off. I saw one recently asking $600 for used gun, plus accessories others may not want. Same gun retails for $450, new, everyday.

Seller stated he paid more than $100 over the current new price, so $600 was firm. And you have to take the accessories too.

Ive seen that elsewhere too. On r/gunsforsale, someone wanted to buy 50rds of .32, and like, 100 rounds of 8mm mauser surplus for $40 shipped. Shipping alone would have been almost $20.

I have an eery feeling you may be referring to my ad. If that's the case I am sorry I offended you with my price.

Definitely not you.

EDIT:

I just saw your ad (M9). That's a reasonable price. The guy(s) I'm taking about are way off.

Sorry about the confusion.

And I think we will see more of these as the marked begins to selttle and more inventory becomes available and more people try to recoup the $$ they overpaid during the panic!

I have to agree, I've found our marketplace to be expensive relatively speaking.  There are definitely some good deals but by and large, it's people asking too much but if people buy.........

prices are coming down on everything across the board, no need to overspend

Just as a PSA.. it's gone. It's never coming back.

For those holding over-priced stuff that they'd like to recoup on, just wait for Hilaria to get elected.

That'll also be a good time to buy stock in firearms manufacturers.

Don't say I never did nothin for ya.

I saw that too and know exactly which ad you are referring to.

I don't take issue with vendor pricing.

And call for price is sometimes a distributor/manufacturer requirement.

If you don't like their price then don't do business with that person. Pretty simple actually.

Obvs. But I can also poke some fun, without calling out specific individuals.

    • Ignoring the Duty To Inform, this is definately going to be used against us CCW holders during the current court hearings.  Drinking and randomly shooting a gun out the window does not paint a good picture for CCW holders.
    • Getting a non-threaded barrel is easy.  I'd definitely consider it as having a form of a shroud for #3.  The question is does it actually violate #1?  If so is there another chassis option that does not have mag holder VFG?
    • So, as I interpret things, you get a hit on #1. It says nothing about feeding from said magazine, just that the magazine attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip. And it is attached. Was this what was considered when it was written? 100% no. However, this is NJ and I don't think they would give you an inch when as written it covers it in plain english.  #2 would be a hard yes if you put a threaded barrel on your setup, so I'd not do that.  #3... well it's not a shroud, but it does allow you to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned. Shroud is ill defined, and it could be argued to partially enshroud the barrel from the bottom. I would bet cash money that the AG would gladly say that second part there is to clarify the intent of the law and that since you can do that, you violated the stated intent of the law.
    • I don't know why we ( NJ gun organizations ) have not yet filed a lawsuit on "duty to inform"  A clear violation of the constitution 5th and probably 4th.  Maybe this guys lawyer will and get that charge dropped.  what other right do you need to inform a law enforcement officer of.    are you required to identify as a republican or democrat during an encounter, and by the way,  what constitutes an encounter.  voluntary? involuntary?   time to get this one knocked down. come on ANJRPC stop waiting for court decisions and go on the attack.
