4 pointsThey're quite stunning, aren't they? I'm wearing mine again today! I can only hope it doesn't make me a target for a mugger. I'm sure they're in high demand.

2 pointsMrs. Peel- That happens all the time with the State Police. Mine were dated ten days prior to the time they contacted me for pick up. It was explained to me, the same to you, that the permits get dated in Trenton, then sent by Pony Express to the barracks. It is a terrible and antiquated system - just what the government wants. They want people to be aggravated and discouraged from applying. Quite frankly that works. I hate having to apply. It takes me three to four months to get permits from the Bordentown SP barracks.

2 pointsYou guys realize it's is actually us paying for this ,right? States only source of revenue is, us.

1 point"Reached" in that they're in the process of filling out and filing all the paperwork. Just like an athlete "reached" the NFL by announcing for the draft.

1 pointI definitely sprayed the screws with brake cleaner before I added the loctite and put them in but I can't recall if I cleaned out the threads in the mount which means that I probably didn't Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Good point - he's from the UK so he may still be harboring some repressed resentment from the whole 1776 thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1 pointI love how these events allow people to break a bunch of laws that would normally get any of us locked up for years without question. Screw over the people without criminal intent, but give the shitbags a day of amnesty and pay them to do it! If you get pulled over on your way to one of these, and officer finds out you have an "assault weapon" or hand gun in your car, are they really going to let you go because you claim to be going to a buyback? Going to the churches they have set up is not an exemption under the law. I would imagine that most cops and prosecutors would love to get an "assault weapon" conviction on their resumes.

1 pointI believe the thinking is to differentiate the PPQ line more from the Q5 Match their competition / performance model. The highly ported and milled side along with the coated trigger and fiber optic sights of the Q5 are it's claim to fame. The weight is weird, unless they internally lightened the slide to compensate for the loss of the porting? Time will tell as I don't believe any retailers are stocking it yet. 1 pointThere's an advantage to using a local company as well, especially if they're in your same town. Word of mouth is better than a bag of gold for them.

1 pointI hire contractors for a living. Small projects of a few thousand dollars up to several hundred thousand dollars. 1. Check recent references. You want to talk to three people who hired this contractor in the last 2 months, not the same 3 names they've been handing out for the last 5 years. 2. Have the contractors tell you how they are going to do the work and what materials they will use. Some estimates say "replace roof". Who knows what you're getting. 3. The advice to get a 3rd estimate is a good one. We often hold a public bid where contractors all submit their proposals to do a project and we open all of the bids at a meeting and all the contractors can come if they want. We're looking for the lowest price. But...when 3 contractors are all within a few thousand dollars of each other and one contractor is $50,000 less than the next guy, you're going to have problems with that contractor. Right now, you don't know which price is the right price. A 3rd quote will help with that. And, if two contractors are in the same ballpark and one guy is much, much less, don't go with the cheaper guy.

1 pointI am on it like a hobo on an ham sandwich. A regular M-F schedule and working day time hours for the first time in 15 years will let me facilitate a nice get together. And as always, thanks Peel! ETA: I just saw the 1A thread. Funny stuff. https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/87394-why-high-exposure-did-not-make-the-meetup-excuses-thread/#comment-1123733 I'm still not getting notifications for any posts/likes/following in the 1A section.

1 pointI am happy everyone had a good time and am very sorry I missed it. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone. Stories of my estrogen replacement therapy were greatly exaggerated. I ended up getting promoted to LT at work. The promotion ceremony and swearing in was on Tuesday night. Unbeknownst to me, my little brother (who just retired from the Army and is a new Police Officer in Waynesville MO) flew in on Monday night to surprise me and to attend the swearing in. I am honored he thought to do this. He's a good brother, and I am very lucky. Unfortunatley his flight home was last night and I had to get him up to the airport.

1 pointSo it's open to Jersey residence only but they don't check ID because it's no questions asked. This is just the beginning of the flaws in this system.

1 pointIf I didn't know better... I'd think you were a wee bit defensive there, Krdshrk! Had a great time, too --- nice meeting you all!

1 pointGreat meet up. Issues were discussed, rounds were bought, much accomplished. Remember many of the issues confronting our Founding Fathers were settled over libations in the taverns of Philadelphia. Zekeformod had the potential to become a national movement!

1 pointYup good night. Good to to put some new faces to old names. No mod that I know of in the history of NJGF has ever organized several meet ups. Maybe it's time to add some new genes to the mod gene pool. Jus sayin

1 pointI think you would change your tune when you arrived at that age. I'll be 75 in a few months. If I had a permit to carry I sure would not be ready to give it up. The older I get the more I need a weapon.

1 pointThere are times, even as a staunch Second Amendment Patriot & VP of NJ's busiest 2A group, I have to admit that not EVERYBODY should have a gun. THIS is one of those times...........
