mikeyboyeee 66 Posted September 21, 2009 I have a Glock 26 as my 1st gun. Not sure if is really the right 9mm for me. Grip is a bit thick for my smallish hands and I won't be carrying anytime in NJ, I am thinking of going in a different direction (after some more range time with it to make my final decision). What are your favorite 9mm handguns?

Aleshka 0 Posted September 21, 2009 I really like CZ
StriderTB 10 Posted September 21, 2009 I really like CZ 75 Nothing fits my hand like my CZ75 SP01. (Pay no attention to the goofy tacticool collage)
John Fox 5 Posted September 21, 2009 Browning Highpower.
NJ609 22 Posted September 21, 2009 I love my Glock 17.... If you want something smaller though I'm not sure what to tell you since my other choice would be the Springfield XD9.
mikeyboyeee 66 Posted September 21, 2009 Not so much smaller as I think my 26 is a tad too small actually, but thinner in the grip area. I would like to shoot a 17 and 19 and most definitely an XD and an M&P.
totalabuse 27 Posted September 21, 2009 H&K P7M8.
lunker 274 Posted September 21, 2009 H&K P7M8. I second that, although $1500 is a bit pricey for a gun, so I would add the HK P7. It is functionally nearly identical to the P7M8 and can be had for under $700.
cold shot 1 Posted September 21, 2009 So far, it's the Beretta 92FS
bbk 188 Posted September 21, 2009 the 92FS is decent, and even with smallish hands (I do too!) its a fine grip. I'm also a fan of the Sig 226 and 229. Personally, I have an XD, so, I would highly recommend those as well.
GaTz 0 Posted September 21, 2009 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Glock 19 with Hogue Grips & trijicon nightsights...I also own the 26, but the 19 is more practical when not carrying... I prefer XD .45 to Glock 30 or 36, but as far as the 9mm goes, the G19 can't be beat imo....
Caine 147 Posted September 21, 2009 (Pay no attention to the goofy tacticool collage) Tacticool or not, gotta love Striders and Surefires! Anyway, even tho I like the way my M&P9 feels in my hand better, I find myself shooting the G19 more often.

Caine 147 Posted September 21, 2009 This is gonna sound weird, but, unlike most people, I think I like the "chunkiness" of the G19 (no chubby chaser comments please ). I think I also just spend more time with the 19 because it has 15 round mags instead of the 10 for the M&P.. which probably subconsciously makes me like the 19 more. tinyboy 1 Posted September 21, 2009 Mikey are you coming to central Jersey on 10/11? I have a Browning High Power you can shoot, its a nice thin grip and feel tiny
mikeyboyeee 66 Posted September 21, 2009 Thanks Tiny. I will be there for sure. Just need to pick up some clays, but otherwise, I am bringing my Mossberg, a bunch of 7 1/2 birdshot, my Glock and a sever boxes of 9mm ammo Looking forward to meeting you and the browning
kenw 293 Posted September 21, 2009 There'll also be an assortment of M&P's and at least 1 9mm XD. Among other things. Just walk up and down the line and try them all. Take notes, it's gonna get confusing, but in the best possible way.
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted September 21, 2009 Glock 26. 8-) I understand the OP's pain though - Glock's subcompacts are small, but they are not necessarily small hand friendly. I have large-ish hands. If you're buying as a "NJ Only" with no consideration for carrying then get a larger framed 9mm. It will be easier to aim and get back on target after each shot. I bought my G26 with the intention of carrying it once I move out of NJ so I'm sticking with it. Didn't do too badly with it in my 2nd IDPA match yesterday (2nd out of 5 in class sub-division). That is probably theplan. I will most likely get rid of the 26 to fund the new gun. Now it is just a matter of shooting the various ones like the M&P, XD, new Ruger, Glock 19, etc. Hoping to be able to at least hold some on the 11th
