Tavor Coming to the US

Looks pretty cool. Bullpup designs are neat but they seem to be awkward with the magazine located in the rear part of the rifle. I skimmed the video but what caliber will this be in? 5.56/.223?

And unless that has a threaded barrel to install a brake, that looks like a flash hider.

That is how they were able to shorten it up..bolt to the rear..

It still doesn't address the issue of having empties fly into your face when shooting left handed. Yeah, I see the covered slot that probably turns into the ejection port when you swap out for a left handed bolt but who the hell is going to do that in a middle of a firefight?

All show, very little go.

Why WOULD you try and swap out in the middle of a firefight???..if its your rifle, and you're a LEfty you SHOULD have swapped out for a left-handed bolt the day you got it

Yeah, but off shoulder shooting would be a NO!

Nice idea provided reality lets you never have to shoot on your weak side.

Well considering none of us are IMF, there's about zip chance of that ever happening..if you dont like the concept..dont buy one... It really IS that simple.

IMF?

It IS that simple, gun is not favorable to off hand shooting. Just that simple.

Shooting a side ejecting bullpup offhand just requires the proper technique. You don't have to put up with hot brass slamming into your face....

If learning that technique is too much, go for the fs2k or RFB with front ejecting ports, or don't bullpup at all.

I already understand the limitations of that design.

My comment was mostly for anyone considering this as some type of defensive or even competitive weapon where off hand shooting is sometimes required.

Also, the guy in the video claims it's an ambidextrous design...but only if you swap the bolt out. To me, that's not what I consider ambidextrous.

There is a magical solution to this... you shoulder the weapon, then proceed to tilt it 45 degrees so that the casings eject downwards. So easy, an Aussie, a Frenchie, a Brit, an Israeli can do it.

There are ways around it..and one REALLY Simple one..choose a different platform . :banghead:

Yes, so long as you don't care to use the sights.

Not my first rodeo with the bullpup gents. There are numerous workarounds for the platform but ultimately it gives up too much in function for the sake of its form.

I've worked with Australian and British private contractors who had no limitations on rifle choice. Their primary rifles were M4's with 14" barrels and they used AK's as secondary weapons. To a man they would rather pick up a pointed stick than deal with the SA80 or any other bullpup weapon.

I'm sorry, but how does canting a rifle one way or another prevent you from using your sights? Especially if the sight is an RDS?

    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
