Martin Brodeur

Recommended Posts

All I read in this thread is :

"My thugs hockey team have a whackjob for a goaltender"

"I wish it was 1974"

"Messier makes me happy in the pants"

I really missed Brodeur.

I hate the flyers with a passion. That team just makes me sick ever since Jean Hart was their announcer. He was the biggest homer announcer I have ever heard most home announcers are a little biased but he was the worst!!

i was never a fan of the Devils (im not originally from NJ, so i dont have to like them), but since my older cousin USED to play for them (and won the cup in NJ) and my younger cousin CURRENTLY plays for them, i have to root for them a little bit.. Only former Devils player i really ever liked was Scott Stevens.. he played the game like i used to

I'm closer to Philly. It gives me more of a reason. That fugly colored green jersey their fans wear and then theres the Halloween colors of the Cryers...oops...Flyers.

"but you live down here! You should root for the team where you live!". Should have stayed where I was. Oh wait, that was NY. Nevermind

Giontas? Brian won in 03 and Stephen is playing now. Do you socialize with them? I've known a few people who were related to hockey players and they were always estranged I guess.

yep, the Giontas..

well, they were both a quite a bit younger than me so we had different circles, but i socialized with their parents Sam & Penny moreso (they were always around the rinks growing up).. my father still talks to them regularly (he's still in Rochester) and even posed with the cup with Brian when he brought it back to Rochester when they won it in 03.. i have a pic of it, but its on my PC at home..

So the Flyers won what recently???

Subscribe to a newspaper. Or turn on your TV. Devils won Conference last year and ran over the Flyers doing it.

Anyway the two most fun things are shooting and ice hockey. When you are not shooting, who here plays open??

Iceland??

Igloo??

Anywhere??

Anybody??

I think I'll have to try 308 WIN on a puck at 100. At the range of course. Maybe 200 is safer.

People forget its been 10 years since the devils won anything.

Actually, it's been less than a year since we won the Eastern Conference Finals. Who was it that we beat again?

What people also forget, is that it's been 19 years since the Rangers won anything.

I play with a big group every Sunday morning. Roller hockey as there is no rinks for open skate near me.

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
