Shawnmoore81 623 Posted May 22, 2013 http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/local&id=9112179 A bunch of bars and restaurants have been ripping people off. Really screwed up. I've heard of a couple but have never been to any Railroad Café, East Rutherford; The Brick House, Wycoff; Sunset Tavern, Burlington; Graziano's Ristorante, Chesilhurst; Villari's Lakeside, Gloucester Township; Yesterdays, Marmora; TGI Fridays, West Orange; Italian Affair, Glassboro; Bells Tavern, Lambertville; TGI Fridays, East Windsor; Brunswick Grove, East Brunswick; TGI Fridays, Old Bridge; TGI Fridays, North Brunswick; TGI Fridays, Piscataway; TGI Fridays, Freehold; TGI Fridays, Marlboro; TGI Fridays, Hazlet; Murray's, Dover; TGI Fridays, East Hanover; Sona Thirteen, Morristown; Blackthorn Restaurant, Parsippany; Ruby Tuesday, Bridgewater; TGI Fridays, Linden; Café 34, Matawan; Applebee's, Kearny; Cucina Calandara, Fairfield; TGI Fridays, Woodridge; TGI Fridays, Springfield; TGI Fridays, Clifton. But it is really screwed up. A lot of tgi Fridays on that list. Makes ya think it may come from higher up

Vlad G 345 Posted May 22, 2013 You just have to wonder what they substitute in their food, higher profits there given the volume. I never understood why people order "expensive" drinks at those sort of places. Even assuming you are getting what you ordered, and it isn't watered down, and it isn't poured over a ton of funny tasting ice, you are still paying for a couple of drinks almost as much as it would cost to buy yourself a whole bottle with a bit of shopping around. It has more to do with attempting to impress than brand loyalty....whether it be the bartender,a friend or the lone young lady at the bar.very few can discern the difference between a premium or top shelf and a well pour in a mixed drink. The first or second pour generally pays for the whole bottle at whole sale so when dining out I generally BYOB and save the cocktails for home.
Wolfy 51 Posted May 24, 2013 Most of those TGI Fridays must be owned by the same person.... I agree it has to be the same franchisee.
Redstorm84 0 Posted May 24, 2013 The Briad Group owns the TGI Friday's involved. They own TGIs and Wendy's franchises all over the country. TGI's Franchise group of the year. HAH! Just added TGIs to the banned list.

Nikos 31 Posted May 24, 2013 Sure there is. Rubbing alcohol and caramel food coloring. Might have been a display bottle that was seized. It seems highly unlikely that people can't tell the difference between top shelf whiskey and caramel colored rubbing alcohol.
KpdPipes 388 Posted May 24, 2013 Most of those TGI Fridays must be owned by the same person.... Funny thing is that they are Still BUYING the real stuff though..so where is it going? Company I do part-time security for is the Distributor for all their Liquor, and the salesmen whi the TGI accounts are constantly picking up cases upon case of high/mid end booze for those Restaurants above and beyond the truck deliveries. Then it is being diverted somehow. Just the fact that it's so widespread across 13 NJ locations makes me believe that other than the regional knowing about the practice, it has to go higher. Hell, I'm a Crown drinker, and that's not even really top shelf.
Spike 7.62 0 Posted May 24, 2013 The TGI Fridays in my town isn't on this list, but 3 times in a row I went there for drinks with friends last year (2012) and all 3 times I ordered my regular drink- captain morgan and coke, and all 3 times I remarked how "off" and "not right" it was. Combined with the tiny glasses and huge ice cubes I stopped drinking there, and would mix my own on a "smoke break". But anyway I wonder if they should be reported? Im not a trouble maker but spiced rum is my drinking specialty and their drinks have never tasted normal.
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted May 24, 2013 The most surprising on that list is The Brick House... not your average Bar... a high end restaurant with a cigar room. HAHAH looks like their website got hacked.
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted July 31, 2013 It's bs. That guy should have at least lost his liquor licenses. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2013/07/steep_bar_tab_tgi_fridays_owner_to_pay_500000_for_serving_cheap_liquor.html

AlDente67 563 Posted August 2, 2013 So from what I heard the other day, TGIF settled for something like 500k as a fine (I forget the number)... What pisses me off is where the fine goes. It certainly doesn't go to the people who got scammed paying $7 for a glass of dishwater.
