Vicious 138 Posted January 5, 2014 XD I'm thinking of doing the same thing. It's got to be an interesting job down there.
karlkurtz32 0 Posted January 5, 2014 I have a lot of LEO buddies, several specifically working (or have worked) in Camden. From everything I've heard there's no way I'd want that job.
iCARRY 0 Posted January 5, 2014 Have fun with that. Exciting and crazy days are only cool for a short period of time. A boring day is a good day.

LennyTheLip 0 Posted January 5, 2014 Best thing to do is contact Camden directly. Since they were taken over/reorganized, I'm not sure of the requirements. I am fairly certain they are no longer civil service.

quikz 34 Posted January 6, 2014 I do not like their hats. Its ambiguously ghey-ish. As in that guy from the Village People. Its supremely tough to break into NJ LE. Get ready for years of trying to only end up disappointed. Inhave notbreally applied years ago to any NJ LE except NJSP and was 'on track' to go further, before I was sidetracked w another career choice. Now, I kick myself, EVERYDAY. 70gto 142 Posted January 7, 2014 Take every test everywhere, as the vets come home the number of applicants shall increase. Don't quit trying. Its a tough job that you will love or hate, there is no in between. Its a job that has its perks and definitely its disappointments. If fact go to Camden metro and go to front desk and ask to speak to a supervisor or someone that handles the new hires, at minimum you will get straight answers as to what their requirements are. Don't be a show off and tout your accomplishments right then and there or you will be branded from the door. Just ask politely what their requirements and the process is. Good luck I loved it. Ask me/us more questions after you get the application in. Also find out if the test is a chiefs test or civil service test, because there is a difference between the two. Don't drag you feet. Gravity 0 Posted January 7, 2014 Hey gentlemen camden/newark/hell. I need to get in! I was in iraq for a year im sure camden isnt that bad lol. What does that mean you were in Iraq? TheMan 45 Posted January 9, 2014 What does that mean you were in Iraq? My brother did two tours never fired his weapon and packed sandbags all day. One individuals experience is different than others. No im not special forces, not a ranger, no hero medal of honor war stories but i can assure you that I did not pack sandbags, i only gunned a mk19 on top of an uparmored m1114. Id rather risks 8hrs on my a** and 8min of my a** on the line than a 24/7 worry if that next wave of rockets or mortars have my name on them or if that fresh pile of animal carcass has an ied inside.
