I'm not sure that the same group of clowns that deemed BB guns evil will not put this into the same category and require an FID for purchase and deny carry using the handy term of "reasonable".

That is a terribly written article on so many levels. A big issue that I see is the unrealistic expectation of what a stun gun can do vs what a Taser can do, and how many different ways even a Taser can be ineffective. A stun gun relies solely on pain compliance - It does not feel much different then a hard pinch, a "Dead Leg" type punch, or a bad charlie horse cramp. It does not knock you unconscious for minutes like on TV or movies. It just hurts and as soon as you break contact from the stun gun, which is as easy as getting 1/8" of distance between your skin and the device, the pain stops immediately. If you have a determined attacker, all you are doing with it is pissing them off. A Taser is a different animal and has the ability to completely incapacitate an individual for a very short time if deployed correctly - but there are a lot of considerations that need to be taken into account to use one successfully. AND just like a stun gun, once the device finishes its cycle, there are no lasting effects and the target is free to continue their aggressive actions with no after effects. Everyone is clamoring for these devices but they just don't know what they are, how they work, any of their shortcomings, or the required TTPs you need to use one of these successfully. And, at the end of the day, if you look at our self defense laws - any time you would be justified to use one you would most likely be better served with a handgun.

You know, I have to laugh... these things are so very common... for god's sake, they're even for sale on Amazon!! The fact that this is even a big enough deal in NJ to merit state police and AG recommendations - and newspaper coverage - just goes to show you how this state really has it's head up it's ass. My big concern - (and some other poster made this wise point, it's not my original thought) - is that somehow NJ will find a way to use this against us. Well, lady, sure you've got a restraining order and a crazy ex, but you don't need a gun and a concealed carry license --- because NOW, you can get a stun gun instead! That will meet your needs! People like Sweeney and Weinberg will undoubtedly find some way to slither away from this good thing... and somehow turn it into a bad thing! Bank on it. I may be newer to some of these issues than the rest of you, but even I can envision that already!

There is still no doubt in my mind that Tasers will be treated as handguns as far as permitting and Carrying is concerned.

I shoot a red dot past 300 yards with no issues. A magnifier sounds like useless weight and added complexity. And money. If you want the option to have some magnification you should look into a variable magnification scope, in my opinion. But that's just me!

I don't think anyone has mentioned this legal case in awhile... but it's an interesting one to keep an eye on. The Second Amendment Foundation just joined in on an amicus brief... the long and short of it, they're asking SCOTUS to review a case in Maryland - and arguing that what the state has proposed is unconstitutional under the 2A as laid out in the Heller case --- meaning that MD is trying to outlaw an entire "class" of "common use" firearms -- semi-auto sports-utility rifles. They're hoping to get the Supremes to take the case when they return in October. Personally, I still think that's rather risky with the current panel of judges... and of course, there's no guarantee SCOTUS will even take the case. Still, I believe it's one to watch. Because 2 of the Supremes as I recall were pushing recently for SCOTUS to take on a 2A case. So, sooner or later, one of these cases in the pipeline will be heard. If it's this one, I would think it could have broad implications for a few other states - like our own Joisey (should a certain you-know-who become Gov). https://www.ammoland.com/2017/08/saf-joins-amicus-brief-asking-high-court-review-maryland-gun-case/#axzz4qcgNUIL1

If that's a 100yd target I would definitely say your good to go. The next match is September 3rd at 7:30 am. Just show up with all your usual range gear and get ready to have fun. You don't have to pre register or anything like that, just show up. There is plenty of helpful people there if you have any questions. That’s a mini block like the R66CB1-6 and unfortunately Hubble I suggested will only fit the full size 25 pair 66 block as in the picture I posted earlier. I probably should have showed the full-size but was focusing on the adapter itself. A this point if are going to stick with the mini block just get a standard RJ11 or RJ45 phone jack and mount near the block and run a jumper from the jack to the block and punch it down on your 66 block which kind of goes which your original plan. Then just run you line cord from the modem to the jack and run your jumpers. With all due respect there was really no point in running the CAT5 if they were just going to use Pair #1 (blue) and abandon pairs 2 thru 4 (Orange, Green & Brown) and just leave them hanging. You could have just used regular of P.O.T.S four conductor RED, Green, Black and Yellow, if you could still buy it You have 6 lines showing on the block and all appear to be four pair CAT5. If that’s the case and you went with the full size 25 pair block you could have started at the top and punched down ALL 6 cables @ 8 conductor each and used 48 out of the 50 pins and had two pins remaining on the full size 66 block. (actually the S66M1-50 is split block and it is 25 pair on each side but that’s another story depending on how its used). Not that you’re going to do it but if you wanted to add a second line you at one of the locations served by one of those 6 lines you are already out of space with the mini block if your intent is keeping those six lines in place. You would have to go back and uncoil the wires and find another place for or just get the 25 pair block. Regardless if you replace the mini block with a full size block and use the Hubble, or the RJ11 Jack you still with have to weave a jumper thru the either punch down block to active any of those 6 lines. EDIT: Here you go, I did a model for you. Note the blue pair running thru the six lines for the jumper. You will have to do something similar even if you keep the mini block, It connects all Line 1’s together. I terminated the jumper on last two pins so I could demonstrate how to connect and RJ11 or RJ45 jack in case I didn’t have a Hubble adapter and want to use a standard jack. I didn’t have an RJ11 so I used a dual port rj45 for the example. If you went with the Hubble on the full size 66 in theory you could place the Hubble anywhere on the block where the jumper is. Personally I would use the full 66 block but it’s your house and you could do it however you like. Either way you’re within striking distance of getting it to work.

Don't rub salt in the wound, man! I've missed so many classes this year due to scheduling conflicts and was really hoping I could make it to FoP this year but family needs had to come first. I meant to ask you to give Romp shit on my behalf for literally driving an entire cloverleaf because an exit was missed on the way to Alliance

I spent 4 hours on the 300 yard range engaging 1/2 size IPSC steel targets with a T1. All shooters were fairly experienced, but obviously some more than others. The speed advantage of the RDS really became apparent when engaging multiple targets that were spread out. Shooting an RDS woth both eyes open let me acquire and engage targets much faster than a guy with his scope zoomed in to a higher mag. There was also the Perfect Sight Picture syndrome that reared its ugly head.

Very clear... and even if they want to call it a SBS, it is illegal per NJ 2C law.

Asbury Park Press 8/29/17: Stun guns, Tasers will jolt economy New policy is prompted by successful challenge by a gun rights group to ban BOB JORDAN @BOBJORDANAPPTRENTON - Regulations allowing people over the age of 18 to possess stun guns legally in New Jersey for the first time are set to take effect later this year -- a change authorities say will create a demand for the devices that “will likely have a positive economic impact” for the state. The new policy is prompted by a successful challenge by a gun rights group to a ban. Proposed regulations published in the New Jersey Register are scheduled to take effect after a public comment period ends Oct. 20. That’s when residents can be expected to arm up with stun guns and Tasers, said Paul Sollitti, owner of NJ Arms in Ocean, a firearms outlet. “At least that’s what I would hope for,” Sollitti said Thursday. “It’ll be good for business because right now a lot of people who feel unsafe at home might morally be opposed to having a gun. This is a device that gets them past that opposition. I predict a lot of people would get one for their home-defense plan.” The proposed amendment to the state’s firearms laws - submitted by State Police Superintendent Joseph “Rick” Fuentes with the approval of Attorney General Christopher Porrino -- includes an “Economic Impact” section that states: “The proposed amendments and new rule will likely have a positive economic impact by authorizing the sale of stun guns to adults in New Jersey.” “I think that passage is significant,” said Stephen Stamboulieh, one of the attorneys who filed the federal lawsuit that challenged New Jersey’s ban on private individuals owning stun guns. “You have the state saying it’s good for business and there will be increased economic activity from the change.” “It makes you wonder why New Jersey resisted it in the first place,” he said. New Jersey was one of only five states that banned residents outright from owning stun guns, which can be as small as a pack of cigarettes. A device emits an incapacitating charge of electricity through metal tips that can penetrate clothing and embed in the skin. Stun guns and Tasers are terms that often used interchangeably, but the devices are different. A Taser is shot from a distance and is a form of electroshock weapon. It shoots probes, which are connected to wires, toward the target. In the proposed regulations, stun gun is defined as “any weapon or other device that emits an electrical charge or current intended to temporarily or permanently disable a person” -- wording that would also apply to Tasers. Officials in the Attorney General’s office did not respond to a request for clarification if both weapons are covered by the rules. The state already allows police to use stun guns, but many departments have opted not to, citing high costs of equipping and training officers and restrictions on how and when to use the weapons. In March 2016, the state relaxed some of the restrictions on how police can use stun guns. Under the new guidelines, police can stun a subject who poses a “substantial” risk of injuring someone. Previously police could only use stun guns to prevent death or serious injury. Bob Jordan [email protected] Items used with the Taser stun gun are shown during an Atlantic City convention. I have posted this before, for me the "core four" are: 1911 in .45 357 mag revolver 9/40 cal semi automatic .22 pistol Considering you have the SP01, and a .357 I would go for a 1911 or a .22. .22 is much cheaper to shoot and is great to introduce new shooters to the sport. If you have kids, this is a good option to get them into the sport. If you are looking at the G21, check out the HK45 as well.

Well it wasn't any surprise that Mayweather was gonna win. The stoppage was a bit quick for me, he hadn't even went down. But they are both winners cuz they both made over $100M for that bullshit fight !

I just spent all day on the range with some of the best carbine instructors and shooters on the planet. I did a 4 hour block on intermediate distance Carbine (300 yards). No one had a RDS and magnifier combo. A handful of us shot with plain RDS (I ran a 2MOA T1). Everyone else had low power magnified optics. At 300 yards I was faster with my RDS than a lot of guys with magnification. Those are all clues.

Best comment regarding recent Confederate statues reactions... and the lack of historical context is appalling ! Blacks who were never slaves are fighting whites who were never Nazis over a Confederate statue erected by southern Democrats because now Democrats can't stand their own history anymore...... yet somehow, it's Trumps fault! I hope this explains the mentality of most in the democratic party. Now, where were we in the Russian thing?
