Ok here is my timeline. 1)Did shooters course on 7/3. Very easy 30 rounds, 10 at 5 yards, 10 at 7.5 yards, 10 at 10 yards. I was there for about an hour. $90 2) filled out 3 separate notarized applications at Bank of America.(you need an account) 3) Dropped off to Manchester PD on 7/5. Everyone in there was really excellent and helpful. Michael Lynch is the Investigator that handles these. Great guy 4)they give you additional reference documents that need to be filled out by your references on the application. They hand them to you to avoid it being held up in the mail. I had them completed that day and also dropped back off on 7/5 5) I got fingerprinted in the fairness hills PA identogo because they allowed walkins. This was also done on 7/5. Important:the 60 day clock doesn’t start ticking until you are fingerprinted. 6)7/18 I received an email from Manchester PD stating it was sent to the superior court. 7) received phone call today to pick it up 8/16. I picked it up from the station and they were extremely helpful again. Important. It states no restrictions but the judge also gives you a letter saying the ONLY guns you can carry are the ones listed on the card. Restrictions are regarding if it was for work and you could only carry while working etc. other tip. I gave them 2” passport photos and they cut them to size. It wasn’t a problem. i think that is everything. Happy to answer any questions.

ITEM SOLD I have a recently acquired Zastava ZPAP M70 (black Hogue furniture), already NJ compliant with a sweet Lantac brake, Zastava scope mount, and a Zastava triangle stock (comes with the pad, you will thank me). Comes with a 10 round magazine. Recent production, purchased new in May of this year. With the exception of the upgraded Zastava Triangle Stock and the Lantac Muzzle Brake, everything else is original as when purchased. It has under 200 rounds through it. I acquired a few of these and then had the opportunity to add a WBP Jack to my collection, so I have to give up one of my prized Zastavas. Asking $950 $900, which is a deal considering the brake, triangle stock, Zastava scope mount, pad, and labor for the compliance work already done (only the brake needed compliance work). Comes with the original slanted brake, just to have. It's in mint condition. I am in Monmouth county and can drop it off at Legend Firearms or Howell Gun Works to handle the transfer after payment received, so you can go whenever you want to do the NICS to pick up and it will be there for you. The first to post "I'll take it" wins the sale

Hey. just joined the forum, I am already a gun owner.. mostly due to hunting; but want to get more into the sport. I was raised with firearms, I'm just not fluent in the jargon so forgive me if I ask for clarification if I can 't find it myself. I'm in Camden County, for reference.

Michael Burry (The Big Short) fairly recenlty liquidated all but one stock. Not saying to follow his actions alone b/c everyone's risk tolerance and time horizons are different. But if half the things that people have been saying / predicting come true in the next few months (recession, housing prices come down, rates continue to climb, inflation NOT under control, food shortages, etc) then I don't see much to be optimistic about in the near term.

RGR that, I have recent experience with one of these (not revolver). Just like to test-drive first if possible.
  31. 1 point
You don't need to see it shoot....the Mak is as reliable as a revolver....beat it, feed it shit ammo and it will still deliver good groups and put lead on target. It is a lil beast...blowback, harsh and oh so damn fun....for a commie gun. Buy it and you will not regret it....

Welcome to the forum Khaan, I see that this is your first post. Please, do go to the introductions thread and say hello to everyone. We have lots of good folks here happy to help, and one crazy chick that doesn't realize Taylor Ham no longer exists.

A comedian was asked to define the word politics. He said first you have to break the word down to it's root form. Poly is from the Greek meaning many. And tics of course are blood sucking insects.

After I submitted my application in late July I had my finger prints scheduled and done in Pennsylvania. Identigo had LOTS of slots the next business day and they took walk ins.

100% Primary reason for the spare mags is insurance for magazine induced malfunctions. Secondary reason is increased capacity due to limitations either by law (10 round limit) or by design (the smaller frames handguns).

No offense to those who can't, but shit man. If I can score a 98% with a glock 19c, and a 94% with a smal P938 on the HQC1.. I think most people should be fine qualifying who put a little practice in. I spent an hour practicing the day prior to qualification, and hadn't shot any handgun in almost 2 years.
  46. 1 point
LOL, I was expecting someone to say this...Sorry, we are not being qualified to go on the offense. Some people with carry may want to, but some people may not. It is called self defense with a hand gun. That kid was an absolute hero, but not every has the skills, guts, and mental acuity to do so. Ridiculous to say that is the standard for everyone who wants the basic right to self defense outside the home. You want to train to take out mass shooters, kudos, but don't require Granny to have to do it too.

This is some of the worst advice I have ever seen on this forum. Money and time spent on a high stakes life saving defensive skill with abilities that degrade quickly without regular sustainment training is never, ever a waste. It’s not enough to just meet the minimum. We should always strive to improve. Always be a student. Be good Stay safe Get training Be an asset, not a liability.

I just qualified at Shooters Sporting Center, standard FBI-Q target 30 rounds, 10 ea. 5-7.5-10 yards, only need an 80% to pass. Heavy fiber board targets, couldn't bring it home, but I had a 6" spread, no reload drill, no support hand shooting. Conducted by retired State Police Officer.

Just because it's a controversial hot topic in NJ doesn't change the legality of it. I will let other people judge for themselves what the risks are.. but I'm not going to pretend what is being asking is illegal... Just like I wouldn't tell people hollow points shouldn't be used in NJ. Or that magazines must be unloaded when transported... I don't error on the side of caution.. I just follow what the law says. I don't care about who openly talks about owning them, that's not really a point to be made. How many people admit to owning braced ar15 others?
  50. 1 point
Nappen is a jackass if he said any of that. The law specifically states "may be readily 1[assembled with the purpose to manufacture an untraceable firearm] manufactured 2or otherwise assembled2 , but which does not have the capacity to function as a firearm " You can obtain materials to manufacture a firearm outside NJ, manufacture it outside of NJ, and then transport a legally manufactured firearm in NJ if it can fully function as a firearm. At no point were materials obtained(non serialized) to manufacture a firearm IN NJ, which is the only thing that new law banned. There are NO laws banning the transport of non serialized firearms into NJ that were manufactured by an individual out side of NJ.
