Pistol Ammo price?

Recommended Posts

I do not own a pistol yet but everyone always talking about how cheap the 22 lr ammo is. What is the next cheapest ammo for a pistol after the 22 lr? 38 special, 9mm?

9mm is the clear winner.

Or just reload and then everything is cheap!! Yippie!!

But no 9mm is definitely the clear winner and readily available

9mm then 40

38's are cheaper than 40's Tony, and are way better!

I got Federal 40, 180 gr for 13.47 per 50 this past week. Granted, it was in TN at Wally World, but, it was priced the same as the Federal 9mm.

AT wally world, 9mm is typically $11 a box, used to be $8.42, for a box of 50, and $20 or so for a box of 100.

I always got 9mm the cheapest.

This is one of the reason's why I don't own any 40s. There is no real advantage over a 9mm.

Cost, capacity, stopping power, recoil, availability of ammo.

.40 S&W makes major power factor in USPSA and IDPA. There is a 9mm major but that is a specialized caliber.
