Guess how many beans in the jar!

Recommended Posts

Or in this case, spent primers in the water bottle. :p

Standard issue .5L bottle, mix of LPP but mostly SPP. Any guesses? Even i don't know!

I can say its well into the thousands though, whatever it is. If i had a shipping scale, i'd weight it cuz even i'm curious.

Ok, i was able to take a few measurements and do some math and i came up with a rough value.

1 spent SPP == 2.9 grains == 0.00662857143 ounces as measures with my digital reloading scale.

The entire bottle with contents weighs 3lb, 0.2 oz (48.2oz) per my digital trigger scale.

So dividing the weight of 1 primer into the cumulative bottle weight we get:

48.2 / 0.00662857143 =

7271.6 PRIMERS!

Assuming price is right rules, the closes value without going over wins so that makes tony the weiner!

Congratulations tony, you win the honor of knowing more about spent primer volume than anyone else here.

You need a bit more precise measure....you have the weight of 1 primer, now weigh 50 and divide by 50, you'll get a much more accurate number.
