USPSA Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club - 4/8/12

Recommended Posts

Hey Maks,

Can anyone attend this or do you have to be a member?

I'd just like to watch and introduce myself to you and any other members.

I'll just had my first gun for a few days so I don't think I'll be ready to shoot in a match but I'd like to learn more about it and how I can get started.

Thanks

Generally how long does it take for the scores to be posted? Not trying to be a nudge, just kinda curious to find out how I truly did.

Also, I keep seeing mention that there is a lack of stage designers. Do you have to be an RO to design stages? Obviously I just started so I probably don't have a good feel for what makes a good stage, but stage design seems like something I would enjoy so I'm fairly certain I'll get into it down the road.

Scores are up when Max gets them done and Vlad posts them on. I should have them done by wed, as today and tomorrow quite busy for me. They will be posted on WWW.cjuspsa.org

No, you do not, you just need to be able to read the rulebook enough to take a swipe at it and understand any problems pointed out. If you want ot be added to the list when we solicit for stages each month, PM me with your email address. For real newbies, I'll usually let you design my stage and ask you to hand in your homework early, I don't do one that month, and if I see any glaring errors I point them out ahead of time. If not, I build the stage with you and walk you through your plans first contact with reality.

At Old bridge, I'll gladly volunteer for the same hand holding while building, but I'm not in charge of collecting stages.

I started designing stages long before I got my RO card.

I have a membership at GSSC in Lakewood.  The guys there are awesome and I love shooting there.  But there are limits to an indoor range.  I'm planning on joining Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club this month.
What's been your experience with the club and is it worth the $$?

If anyone cares to see the Area 8 match here is a video of my mediocre performance this past Thursday.  Managed to get 212 Alphas, 7 Betas, 48 Charlies, 3 Deltas and unfortunately 5 Mikes.  At least no procedurals and no no-shoots.  Really did for crap on the first stage I shot (which was stage2), those doors did me in.  Had a heck of a time on the next to last stage I shot too, which was stage 14.  I'll tell you it was a grueling day.  Left the house at about 4:30am and did not get home till 8:30pm.

    • Are some brands of pants better than others for this type of carry?  Like, do certain brands of pants, or  specialized "tactical" pants have deeper pockets with larger openings, etc.  It seems like a lot of pants these days have tiny pockets.
    • Russians or Trump's fault.

    • For sale is a PWS Mk218 chambered in .308. Has a 18 inch barrel. Comes with a Radian charging handle, Magpul PRS Lite stock, grip and Angled fore grip. Also has a Geissele Automatics G2S Two Stage AR-15 Trigger and a POF Triple port muzzle brake. Only shot about 200 rounds. You can definitely get SUB MOA groups at 100 yards with this rifle using match ammo. Looking for $1800 but will consider all reasonable offers. Price doesn’t include the optic. Located in Union NJ. Willing to meet up within 45 mins of 07083. Any questions feel free to send me a PM.
    • It’s an LCP. Throw it in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster on your strong side and get a Nemesis Mag holder for your support side pocket and call it a day. This is how I carry my LCP (I only carry it doing chores around the house, I wear a Glock 19 or 48 doing anything off property), I never even got a belt holster for it. If you want to keep it on your belt, wear an UnderArmor HeatGear type undershirt tucked into your pants. The material prevents the chafing, especially when sweaty and hot. I always wear a HeatGear so my AIWB/IWB carry doesn’t rub my skin.
