Hey all my name is Eddie, I'm new to the scene. I have shot before so i decided that I wanted a firearm of my own. I applied for my card and my permits, and am now on the waiting stage. Almost 3 weeks in. This seems like a friendly and knowledgeable group of people. I have gotten a lot of good info from just browsing. Thanks.

Welcome, Eddie! I'm sort of in the same boat as you. Although I've been shooting since 1968 I'm relatively new to handguns and still consider myself a beginner.

 

Lots of good info, and people on this site. It's not as robust as the NY or PA sites, but it's pretty good. Watch, read, and learn.

I was looking to get a 9mm sig. I shot one the other day and it was perfect. I just don't remember which one it was. I also had my eye on the beretta m9 or 92fs. And finally I have had a friend telling me that I should get a hi-point carbine. People either love or hate it and I figured with a price tag that it has it couldn't hurt to pick it up.
