New STI Rollmarks

My one complaint about STI guns appears to be history.

As of about a month or so ago, all new pistols built here in our factory (except the GI) will sport the smaller engravings.

I'm working now on getting photos of all the new ones (and will update the website once I have them all) but here's a couple I have finished:

Even smaller would be better.  I was interested in the Trojan about 2 years ago until I saw the BIG TROJAN word on the side.  A big turn off.

I agree with you on the old one, but I think this is smaller than most other rollmarks.

I like my BIG TROJAN. It stands out.

However I do NOT like the scallop cuts on the front strap. They suck.

For some reason the large logo doesn't bother me on my Trojan; normally I don't like billboard rollmarks. But the new rollmark does look nice.

It's a fine gun, I had one for a while.

 

Now, mind you - you're ordering from Dawson - They put their own touches on them. Meaning, the gun has probably been in their inventory for a little while.... and this new roll mark thing sounds pretty new, so... If you're expecting to get one with the new smaller roll marks I would call them up and confirm first, I'd put my money on you getting the old style.

I recently purchased one from dawson, ended up buying their extra mags they worked better with the dawson extended button. after having it for a few months i broke it down and filed the dawson button so my cmc power mags would work with it..

Half the reason I'd get a 1911 is for style. Its a shame so many manufacturers feel the need to pimp out the side of the slide as a billboard. Kudos to STI.

Finally got to pick up my new Dawson STI Trojan 9mm and give her a try today.  It has the new markings and with me holding it actually was able to shoot a 2" group at 15 yards
