New guy! Just found out today about the forum from Scott Rivera of SWAT Firearms in Hammonton. I’m a new gun owner, but not entirely new to shooting. Looking forward to connecting with other NJ shooters. Thanks!

The CZ-75 P-01 is all over Gunbroker, granted most or 14rd but you can buy the gun and have an FFL mod the mags or buy 10rd mags.

No it is a supply and demand thing. Due to covid, things are moving in fits and starts. Copper and lead are sourced from China. Lots of powder comes from Australia. Primers come from the US and Europe and require lots of manual labor compared to other components. On top of that the ammunition market in the US is typically about 11 billion rounds a year and rim fire is between 20-30% of that. A big order for the military is 2 billion rounds If our 5 million new owners just want to buy 200 rounds that's a billion right there. If every gun owner decides they need a case now, that's a demand of 105 billion rounds. The whole planet can't produce that in short order. Or not on short order. Even at full capacity. There's nothing artificial about this, and it is demand well above the small arms ammunition demand of fighting a couple of wars.

Great personal stories, thank you , I will do this every year on the date and I learn something new every time, such as the boat lift, incredible, It also helps me heal a small bit, but I never want to forget what i've seen.

Everything posted here has been correct. Don't take your handguns to NY Don't touch someone else's gun in NY If you must take a long gun, lock it up in the trunk. Your NJ legal AR is probably not NY legal. Ammo locked up in a different box. Mums the word if you get pulled over as there is no duty to inform. Below is a list of Duty to inform states, NY is not one of them. Alaska Arkansas Louisiana Maine Michigan Nebraska North Carolina Ohio Oklahoma South Carolina Texas

I'm glad you folks like the writing & the video. I'm also glad the skies remained empty and all the crop-dusters were accounted for. The thought of being responsible for an early release of poisonous gas or nerve agent in a less densely populated area next to the water in NJ weighed heavily on my soul, but I was willing to take that risk if it meant saving millions in NYC. The Cops that rolled-up on me no doubt felt the same way. Prevailing wind was blowing out to sea... My photo studio was across from a commuter lot with 24 hr. meters. Several cars had multiple OVERTIME PARKING tickets under their wiper blades. Seeing another one being written as I peered thru my office window on 9-14, I hastily walked across the parking lot & chatted up the Cop writing the tickets. I suggested the owners were most probably WTC commuters and ALL DEAD, and it wouldn't be right for the town to force the loved ones left behind to pay for overtime parking. Our eyes met, he nodded and he collected several days worth of tickets left on all the vehicles. Slowly, one-by-one, the cars disappeared as family came to collect the vehicles. I can only assume some of those vehicles, frozen in time, had hair brushes, lipsticks, and other materials that netted DNA used to match WTC victims... I'm not a Hero. I just did what little I could to the best of my ability in a shitty situation. To be honest I feel like I didn't do ENOUGH, like my little part was of no consequence. Later that day, as I became aware of more & more con-trails from military jets criss-crossing the approach vectors to NYC, I put the Garand away w/o firing a shot. My insignificant role was over...

That video is incredible. I was only in 8th grade and lived across the country at the time, but a few years later I deployed with an old Boatswain's Mate who told me his experiences. He was a tug boat captain and participated in these evacuations. It was quite powerful to hear it first hand. That day is what drove him to go active duty. Also unexpected but my old roommate from the CG was in that video for a split second!

As a motorcyclist stuff like that REALLY irks me. The driver needs a good beat down for that one.

...no words....and i am a wordy fu**er.... we choose to forget, we choose to ignore we refuse to remember, we refuse to acknowledge What happened that day and all the days that elevated the human compassion and spirit in the face of tragedy. We do not own horror, we do not own the result of savagery...we at times have been purveyors of it as a nation.... When will humans realize we truly are all in this together on spaceship earth.

Thanks for that. I had never heard that side of it before. One of many uplifting stories coming from a day of absolute tragedy.

I used to say, “I can’t appendix carry because I have a gut.” After believing this for a few years, and from living in a state where it’s nearly impossible to get a Concealed Carry Permit, I was almost fixated on “small of back” carry. On the few occasions when I could carry (out of state), I always carried in the 4:00 or 5:00 position, primarily for comfort reasons. I recently spoke to several other “heftier” gun owners (including a good friend who calls himself the “largest pound for pound firearms instructor in America”) and I received some recommendations on holsters and how to manage, particularly when you’ve got a beer gut rather than a 6 pack. After watching a few videos and testing with some of the holsters I already own, I came upon the Crossbreed Holsters Reckoning holster system. Crossbreed has always had a great reputation with their SuperTuck IWB holsters, but those always seemed on the large side for an IWB holster. The Reckoning holster seemed like a good compromise between size, comfort and conceal-ability. As I had recently picked up a new Glock 48, I figured I might as well try a new holster. I obtained the Reckoning holster system, along with the Accomplice mag carrier. The Glock fits in it perfectly, and the retention is great. The Reckoning holster is adjustable by tightening or loosening screws. After fitting it, I checked the Accomplice mag holder. Unfortunately, the mag holder is really set to hold a double-stack magazine, and while it’s adjustable, there are rubber spacers on the screws to keep it in shape, and I did not feel comfortable with removing them. I removed the Accomplice mag carrier instead. Left – Glock 48 Magazine Right – Glock 19 Magazine I adjusted the belt clips so that the holster rides lower on my body – this is a key factor for those of us with a bit of a belly. This way, the holster is comfortable when standing, and does not dig into you when you are sitting down. When wearing an undershirt, the holster fits nicely in the appendix position, and does not dig in. It conceals nicely without printing. Appendix Carry Carrying at the 4:00 position, you do need to be slightly more aware, as the magwell of my Glock tended to print ever so slightly. It may not be as prevalent with smaller guns, but the G48 is more of a compact size frame (albeit slim). 4:00 Carry Even if the magazines did fit properly in the Accomplice mag carrier, I do not think I would use it in either position – it adds too much to the size and footprint. If I were to carry more at the 5:00 or 6:00 position, it may be something I might look into, however, it’s still not really an optimal location to carry a magazine for how I practice carrying. After some adjustments and testing, I believe I may start actually carrying my G48 in the appendix position with the Crossbreed Reckoning holster. It’s more comfortable than I expected and I like the dual clip system. A single clip holster may be easier to use, but they do not fit me well and dig into my beer belly. After trying several different pairs of pants/shorts, the dual clip system did not interfere with my wardrobe at all. In conclusion, the Crossbreed Reckoning holster is an excellent choice and definitely lives up to the Crossbreed name.

I was a rookie officer finishing my school post when my partner pulled up, yelling at me to get in the car, that the world trade center was attacked. I cant forget that day, or the smell of burnt concrete and death, digging desperately through that pile of twisted- still on fire pile of steel. I don't agree with most of what Deblasio says, but I would have definitely lost my sh&t if they didnt honor the dead today. One particularly sad memory was when I came home on the ferry covered in that white dust, a young mom with a baby stroller was on the Jersey side standing there by herself, for someone who was never coming home. crying telling me I was a hero, I told her I'm no hero , the hero's are still in there, and I walked away sobbing. The guys I went over with still call each other on this day no matter where we are in the world. PTSD is real. GOD bless this country and keep it safe. Never forget, this was the pearl harbor of our generation.

Since the easement is on your property what's to stop you from having a shipping container dropped in place partially blocking the easement? I can be a world class douche if someone pisses me off.

Between a rock and a 10-round magazine this is the way to go. Buy whatever CZ version is available within your permit window. Your FFL can hold the 'high capacity' mags for you while you (hopefully) find a buyer for them. Buy the 10 round mags on your own from Greg, or wherever they appear. Your FFL can legally ship the standard mags to an out of state buyer. OK, so it might cost you (net) a little more. But these are extraordinary times. The alternative is your P2P expires and you start all over again, or you're forced to buy something different. And don't forget, depending on the election outcome our scenarios may be MUCH WORSE on November 4th. And don't think they couldn't be. Who thought last January that 9mm would be at .60++/round in August?

Ran through a couple hundred rounds. CCI Mini Mags (40gr RN and 38gr HP) ran spectacularly. Aguila SuperExtra High Velocity - no issues. Aguila SuperExtra Subsonic actually cycled for the most part. Slide wouldn't lock back but it cycled just fine. CCI Quiet - nope. FTE several times. I wasn't expecting it to work. If the Aguila SuperExtra subsonic ran through with no issues, then it definitely looks like regular bulk .22LR will work. Best part is that if you get a light strike or hangfire, since it's DA/SA, you can just pull the trigger again. No light strikes with the CCI Mini Mags or the SuperExtra HV. On the SuperExtra Subsonic, I got a couple of light strikes but just DA pulled through them. Very happy with this conversion.

Technically no. In New York that’s considered an illegal transfer. Unless the handgun is registered to you, you cannot touch it.
  24. 1 point
This is all true you can not possess a handgun in NY unless you have a NY pistol permit or you are traveling to a NRA sanctioned pistil match. Considering how NY is currently treating the NRA I would not try that exemption. Your friend who owns the cabin should get his NY pistol permit.. You won't be able to bring your pistols but you could shoot his while you are there.

Hey 2A brothers + sisters: You all may know me from my work with NJ2AS - my name is Daniel Francisco and we have started a new 501c3 in New Jersey focusing on civil rights, with an intense focus on the second amendment The social aspect will be a critical part of this community. We launched a podcast a few months ago and we often attend protests or political events to interview various attendees. We are aiming to hold a monthly party where we record a live podcast with 4 microphones and 1 camera. Guests are free to join and either watch the banter from the background while eating and drinking - or they are always welcome to come provide a counterpoint or idea on the microphone. The party "episode" will then be uploaded into our regular podcast rotation. This will become the most fun liberty-oriented movement in the state. This is not a "whitepaper"-type group. This organization is about making new connections, pushing the civil rights envelope, and challenging perspectives. The details for our live event in Englishtown are on the following link: https://www.bluestarunion.com/home/announcement-91320-inaugural-live-podcast-event-ristorante-maietta-in-englishtown-nj-doors-open-at-700pm-youre-invited If you'd like to join us, all you have to do is contact me on our website on the link above (or on any of our socials via a private message) And let me know how big your party is. You are welcome to come alone as well and make new friends. The civil rights fight is dead in NJ - in a wasteland bereft of character and balls. It's time to show people that statism is bad, and liberty is fun. Feel free to join our socials, subscribe to your youtube channel and podcast, and hit us with your feedback. We also have an open-mic policy with our podcast; if you have a compelling dialogue to have, we will accommodate and make an episode out of it. Come have a drink with us! Sniper, thank you, you beat me to it. "Your papers please" is a BS request when it's not req'd not to mention it's a recipe for ID fraud and sadly I can talk from experience on that. It has happened to me twice. One of the two times was minor and quickly cleaned up. The other took a little under two years to fully clean up. The legal people who helped me drove this home,.......unless required by law do not show anything which is connected to your ssn no matter how insignificant it may be. If the connection is there you are increasing your chances of ID fraud.

It's one thing to show your card, then take it right back, at a local store. It's something else to email it to someone, and never know what will happen with that information. In some cases, they even want a copy of your DL, along with the FID. You good sending your information to some unknown company and administrative staff across the country?

Not sure where you are but if you are close to Cheyenne Mountain Outfitters you might give them a call and see if they still have some. I saw some in the case the last time I was there but that was almost 2 weeks ago now and not sure what they got left...

That break is NJ legal - as it is a brake and not a flash hider. You have it backwards - Brakes and comps generally have a closed front with a smaller aperture sized to fit the round exiting the muzzle. Hiders generally have big openings that let the gas and flash escape out the front - So the theory is - if the pinky fits, it is a hider and not a brake. However, as Fishnut said, the “pinky test” is BS. What matters is how the device is marketed and sold.

There is no such thing as the pinkey test. Its completely fake, its not like all pinkeys are the same size. I do think that break is NJ legal

@USRifle30Cal OK, hang-on while I cry some more..... Here's what I posted today on my Facebook page: 9-11 isn't just "another day" for me. Armed with my M1 Garand & several en-bloc clips of .30-06, I sat in my backyard looking for crop-dusters because several were still unaccounted for. Several central Jersey airstrips are within a few minutes flight time of my house and could easily be the source of the next phase of the attack. I was praying to NOT find any as I scanned the eerily quiet sky adjacent to the mouth of the Raritan Bay within sight of the WTC. The Cops pulled-up & asked what I was doing, so I told them. They told me to "SHOOT FIRST & then call it in on a LANDLINE since the government SHUT-DOWN CELL SERVICE"! There were no crop-dusters armed with poisonous gas / nerve agents headed for NYC! My unrecorded effort seems a distant memory today... I lost wedding clients working at Carr Futures in the WTC. They met, fell in love, got married (I was their Photog) and picked-up their wedding proofs. She was pregnant. They found her DNA at Fresh Kills landfill in Staten island, never found his. Both families came to my studio to make parent albums. Not a dry eye in the studio! As we cried together, I told them I'd make TWO bridal-size albums since (2) small parents albums were on the contract, and the extra expense was on the house. Today I'm reliving the joy & sadness of that encounter. This year more than usual. I have no more tears left. God Bless the souls of Mr. & Mrs. Michael Resta & their unborn child! I'm taking a Facebook break today. I'm OUT... From today's CNJFO Facebook page: "ALL AVAILABLE BOATS! ALL AVAILABLE BOATS!! THIS IS COAST GUARD GROUP NEW YORK VHF-16! REPORT TO LOWER MANHATTAN FOR EVACUATION!" A simple VHF Channel 16 radio transmission on the official "emergency channel" so designated by the USCG. For those that don't know, it's probably the only direct communication means between our government and its' population. If it could float, IT RESPONDED! Not since the evacuation of Dunkirk in WW2 has a response been so overwhelming. Dunkirk took 3 DAYS to clear the beach of 300K Troops. On 9-11 these men & women took 500K+ off Manhattan in only 9 HOURS! Here's their story. On the 19th anniversary of this tragedy, we choose to remember the GOOD in people.

I second that. They were essentially imbedded with one of the close by fire stations. They didn't know if the other was dead or not until either later in the day, or the next.

I was just leaving my desk for a meeting when the first plane hit. At the time not much was known so I assumed a small Cessna-type thing. Midway through the meeting someone interrupts with the news. Spent the rest of the day watching the news. Shortly after I joined the local VFD. I’ll be there tonight for duty and will be spending some time at the memorial/beam we have. Also, the 9/11 documentary from the brother filmmakers is fantastic and gut wrenching.
