Feeler: Shotgun ammo group buy?

Recommended Posts

I'm in Parsippany off Rt 80 and 46. I have a Wrangler so I bet I could fit a lot of boxes and bring them up north for people. I might also be down for more than 2 cases if we stay under $60. Local shop around here wanted $80 a case... Pfft....

I'd be good if it's only going to be a 12GA buy with 2 case's if we can do a relay to around the Newark airport area.

Aslo if that's workable, I can do the relay to the Sayreville area for point further south. Not sure how much would be coming down my way and south, but I can drive the Escape to work and load it up rather than my daily driver that wouldn't fut as much.

Also If that's all workable, I'm ready, and good with money for my order as soon as it's an offical group buy.

Also, if the price could be worked out lower than the 50 somthing a case, I'd probably up my order..

That would be great if you can, Sayreville is not far from me at all, I can meet you there and help folks in the Freehold area as well. Team work always benefits everyone.

Harry, if you wanna do the central jersey delivery, let me know. I'll take some cases of # 7 1/2, 1 1/8oz shells, I need them for Knockdown Steel. I still have plenty of #8 and #9 here, don't need anymore. Drez, let me know if you can get that ammo and how many you want me to buy. I am down to two cases of # 7 /12 and need to get more sooner or later, or start reloading the 1000's of shells in my garage!

I'm haven't followed this whole thread since I posted but it looks like its still Being worked out. I'm still in, but I'd like to know where we'd all have to pick up? If its more than an hour from me then I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm in Hamilton by Trenton.

I'll check in on the thread in another day or two.

I think that the general idea is to bring the ammo to the Clinton WMA shotgun range and have eveyone pick up there. If you are unable to make it, it would be up to you to make arrangements with someone in your vicinity to transport it to somewhere you could pick it up. As long as the ammo is paid for ahead of time, and Drez continues to have his Sunday morning get togethers at Clinton, there should be multiple opportunities to make this happen. And if you pay and don't pick it up, well since it's at a shotgun range...

Hope I didn't overstep, Drez, but per our conversation the other day, that seemed where you were going with this.

Well I may have to pull the plug on my end for this group buy. I was involved in a pretty bad car accident recently, I fell asleep on my way home and smashed into a telephone pole. My car is pretty effed up, most likely totaled, but thankfully I'm ok other than bruised knees that smacked into the steering column. Air bags went off, and did their job very well.

I hit that pole at the speed limit (~45-50mph) but fast enough that it's like wow that's pretty fast to hit something like that. The cop said if I hit it any closer to the center of my car he's not sure if I would be here. The telephone pole was hanging by a thread, pretty scary to look at after this happened. Someone was definitely watching over me.

With this said, I am still shaken up and am carless for the time being. I'm pissed cause I just put a good amount of money into 4 new tires and paid it off recently but I'm ok and that's all that matters, we know that. I have a lot of this stuff to deal with in terms of insurance and possibly new car, etc etc, and don't want to bring down this group buy. I was excited to do this for everyone but now I feel I would be disorganized and whatnot and don't want to mess something like this up.

If you are interested in taking the responsibility of this (know most of us/can be trusted with money more importantly!), please PM me and we will see if we can work something out.

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
