high prices in wts section

Recommended Posts

things are worth the price that they get...

you can't wait until the nation is in a gun buying panic.. then try to buy THE SPECIFIC gun that everyone is panicking about.. and then complain about prices.. I have considered throwing my extra lopwer out there for an insane price, and here is why... buy a lower for $100 and not needing it.. it is not worth selling.. just keep it as a back up.... market skyrockets and now that same upper is "worth" $300... for $300 it might be worth dumping.... it doesn't mean I am an asshole.. it doesn't mean I hate the community... it simply means I have something everyone wants, and I am trying to get the most for it... how many guns do you think are sold YEARS later for much more than they were originally purchased for.... it just happens that this is impacting many people so everyone is all bent..

don't like the price? MOVE ON.... you obviously don't want it bad enough...

Wait your making too much sense here! :)

If any of you guy's have a 69 Charger with Hemi for sale please let me know I will give you the orig

MSRP of $5300.00 any time even if it needs some work.

Im pretty confused by that, considering every gun shop I've asked has said that unless I'm a competitive shooter it's not possible. But if it is true, thats pretty awesome.

The LGS's you frequent dont have the right answer for you, so they give you the most convenient one they know. If you show up with a signed exempt form will they not sell the guns to you because it is not for competition? It is the state and local pd that tells you whether it is possible or not. Just because they dont have a bluelinefish as a patron might mean they arent as experienced with dealing with multiple exemption purchases.

Kind of feel like you are calling me a liar.

Your profile says you shoot at Bullet Hole, so I am assuming that is one of the gun shops you spoke about this with. I personally spoke with two different people who work there about the exemption process and they were both well informed on the matter.

But like I said search the forum, quite a few people have gotten an exemption from OGAM on this forum. It's not some super secret cops only thing.

haha nah I'm not calling you a liar. I've asked someone at bullethole, forgot who I spoke with... got the "you have to be a competitive shooter" answer. asked either lisa or the other lady at caso's, got the same answer...

haha...I offered him 450 in pm. he responded 200 so I said I didn't want to take advantage and will give him 300. I posted I'd take it at our agreed price. Is it binding?

glad i came into this thread bc i was wondering why the hell you were buying that upper haha.

chances are... if its not worth what the person is asking... they wont get it...

the reality is you are not buying a "$300 lower" you are buying a $100 lower that you are paying someone $200 to get for you.... you are paying the price of waiting till the very last minute to make purchases......

I'll give you $10K cash for an 1804 Silver Dollar. Just because the going price is way above $1M doesn't mean I should get "gouged" on the price... See where we're going with this? If you want something, be willing to pay the market price, or do-without. Joe, you finally getting bored buying guns? ;)

Gas isn't what it used to be but everybody is paying the $3.xx a gallon it cost now. Supply and demand. I don't fault anybody who decides to get rid of stuff they have. In fact, if you have a lower and have no need for it, your smart to dump it now.

Sorry, I must agree with the supply and demand crowd.

As of right now this is the new "normal".

It's like the people who were looking for a generator AFTER the storm hits. For most it was too late, and if they did find one they were gonna pay for it.

Well the storm has hit the gun market and its not looking like it's going to let up out there anytime soon!

I can agree with the whole supply and demand. It is what it is and also people have a right to sell at high prices and people have a right to create threads about it to complain. What I don't like is people on here who say my 1000 rounds of 5.56 is worth a grand but your gun is still worth the same as before or vise versa. And there has been plenty of that on here but like I said. It is what it is. I buy when I feel the price is appropriate and if it's not I wait. Just my. 02

Who the fugg told you to lose money? I haven't read one person say you should lose money, no one said you can't make a profit. The point some people are trying to make is there is no reason to be asking gunbroker prices on this small little community forum.

If you want to sell your property for absolute top market value, that's cool it's your right to do so, sell it to some schmuck on gunbroker. Not the guy you are bound to run into at the LGS or range or event.

That's just my opinion, regardless I don't really care. I haven't seen anything interesting for sale on here in awhile, and I started stocking up long before the election so I'm good with supplies.

Too many people I know who are buying high now really can't afford it but are using the good ol credit card...so they buy a rifle that was once $900.00 which is $1300.00 now.... And after taking some time to pay it off and buying some ammo for almost $1.00 a round....lets just say they're being taken to the cleaners....sad but i t's no one else's fault but their own...

I have no issue with supply and demand. I do take issue with people that "join" our community for the sole purpose of selling things in the marketplace. I have no issue with someone that is an active member of the community selling items at market value. If Vlad decided to sell his $450 Saiga for $1500, I'd have no issues with that. How many hours has he put in writing guides and giving people advice relating to converting Saigas?

Again it's not people that contribute that are the taking advantage of our community. It's the ones that pop up to make a profit and will disappear when they're done flipping merchandise.

My dad an I were talking last night about his collection...and how nearly every gun he has is worth significantly more now than what he paid for it.

The high prices suck, no doubt....BUT, the only reason they're so high is because people are willing to pay them. I have a hard time holding it against someone to get the best return on their investments they possibly can.

Barring personal friendships/connections, why in the world would someone not charge the most they can get out of something? If Mr. X is willing to pay $500 for 500 rounds of ammo, why would someone sell the same ammo to Mr. Y for $250?

IF you sell something for $100 that you can sell for $200 you ARE losing money! Ain't brain surgery here!

Unless you are selling something for less then you paid you are not losing money.

Not maximizing potential profit and losing money are two different things.

Wasn't this problem solved when they added a 50 post count for selling stuff? What "nebies" are the problem?

And I came here new a few months back and joined up, paid for memebership and listed a few things when I joined.

Two folks of members respondeD:

1) Folks who knew they were getting a deal; and

2) Folks who were complete idiots, and couldn't read or felt I should take a bath on what I paid for something and sell it at half the price just because they wanted it, I had it and they din't want to pay retail.

I met a half dozen senior members on here.....INSTANTLY...and met them all in person. They got a great deal. I got some cash. Two folks who live in this communist state who appreciate weapons got to meet each other face to face, make a new friend, support the cause and the board. How did anybody lose in that situation?

When somebody wants the marketplace regulated (who can sell, how often, how much, etc...)........you are nothing more than a socialist!

I disagree! In the end you have less money in your pocket than you would have had otherwise. You ARE losing money. You are making money from your purchase price but if you are selling it for less than the market then you are losing money.

If I have a stripped lower that I bought for $100.

I decide to sell it for $200.

Could I have asked for more money and received it? Probably.

But as long as I sell for any amount over $100, I have not lost any money.

Any penny I make over my initial cost is a profit.

Any penny you make less than you could have is a LOSS! If you want to be nice that's one thing but if your convincing yourself that you made "enough" money good luck with that!

from my understanding only an ffl can buy a firearm with the intent to sell it at a profit.
