BlueLineFish 615 Posted February 25, 2013 I hope they do. I'm sorry to see people lose jobs but but it's going to take drastic measures to change the liberal mindset of a majority of this country

siderman 1,138 Posted February 25, 2013 "Berettas dont bluff"- priceless! I truly feel sorry for all the employees who may lose their jobs from all these pullouts. Hopefully re-location can work for some. Just more victims of the un-intended consenquences theory.

greatgunstatenj 32 Posted February 25, 2013 Awesome, if they make good on their threats my next handgun will be a Beretta!
Wile E Coyote 0 Posted February 25, 2013 I've never really liked the look of Beretta's but if they do pull out of MD and help some of their employees come with them, you can bet they would get a purchase or two from me. Unless of course, S&W Sig or Glock step up and make a stand (which I doubt).
Cold Steel 0 Posted February 25, 2013 Good for them if they do move out. Hopefully the workers will be offered transfers and can go live in a free state. Win/Win for both of them.
Handyman 5,682 Posted February 25, 2013 Rock on Beretta! 92 is a ton of fun to shoot. Weighs as much as a cinderblock, though!

Having a major manufacturer with a giant military contract may help put pressure on the other large manufacturers Does anyone think this may affect berettas future contracts with the US? incinerator950 0 Posted February 25, 2013 Having a major manufacturer with a giant military contract may help put pressure on the other large manufacturers Does anyone think this may affect berettas future contracts with the US? Every impact will affect something. It might lose them a contract or they might get permanently ignored.
voyager9 3,434 Posted February 25, 2013 Every impact will affect something. It might lose them a contract or they might get permanently ignored. Or it may win them additional contracts.. especially if there are other benefits to moving (newer facility, lower taxes..etc).

Candide 0 Posted February 25, 2013 Their contract is with the Federal govt. I doubt it would matter if they moved to a different state.
RubberBullets 65 Posted February 25, 2013 Their contract is with the Federal govt. I doubt it would matter if they moved to a different state. But if their decision sides with the people over the power hungry govt with a hard-on for gun control, they might be overlooked for the next big military contract. Maksim 1,504 Posted February 25, 2013 Beretta already has a presence in VA.... So moving some stuff from MD should not be a big deal. Good for beretta. Lberal politicians only nderstand two things..... Ok... 3. Money, jobs and getting re-elected. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

SJG 253 Posted February 25, 2013 They should call up Christie and tell him that they will move to NJ if he does not sign any anti-gun laws and add jobs to our economy
ryan_j 0 Posted February 25, 2013 They should call up Christie and tell him that they will move to NJ if he does not sign any anti-gun laws and add jobs to our economy Then when Christie runs for President and we end up with a democrat replacement they'll get legislated out of business. Beretta USA's HQ is in Accokeek, MD and the warehouse is in Fredricksburg VA. (Or at least the mags I bought a few weeks ago were shipped from Fredricksburg.) It might be annoying, but it's a commutable distance. They're a big company. I also doubt the can pull out of everything in MD at the drop of a hat, like Magpul. What they can do more easily is move production of the new ARX-160 across the river. They'll no doubt offer moving assistance to their more highly skilled workers. At some point all the stupid stuff the Maryland politicians do is going to catch up with them. Hopefully, voters will eventually have enough and fire them. Then when Christie runs for President and we end up with a democrat replacement they'll get legislated out of business. I'm afraid you're right. S&W however may be in a place that they may want to move
