Definitely not. While gun control seems to be dead in the water at the federal level, various states have taken steps to infringe on our rights. The NJ Assembly rammed through a bunch of anti-gun bills, some of which will be taken up in the NJ Senate. New York residents are still fighting Cuomo's tyrannical "SAFE" Act. Democrats in Colorado managed to ram through some anti-gun bills, and Magpul (famous AR-15 magazine and accessory maker) will probably end up leaving there if those bills become law.

I agree it's a lull between the feeding frenzy in the Assembly and whatever is to come in the Senate. I'm taking a deep breath, catching up on all the work I missed doing during the frenzy and getting ready for another blitz in a few weeks.

The danger is from two fronts. Both your local and federal government can pass gun control laws. Right now there are bills working their way through the process. If the Federal Government bans do not pass you may see more effort made at the State level. I am sure that many local politicians would rather the Federal Government pass gun control laws so they may be sitting and waiting to see what happens before they support any State gun control bills. I am convince that we are raising a nation of wimps who value life above their liberty and we will eventually succumb to those who do not value life as much as we do just as Rome did. Here was a civilization that had multi storied indoor shopping malls and apartment buildings, running and heated water, etc. who were defeated by people who lived in mud and grass huts. Look at our current enemies and their willingness to sacrifice lives for their beliefs and decide if we are capable of defeating such people. Heck, they can live with no electricity, butchers, cars, etc.. We will crumble if we have no electricity or gasoline. At least most of the nation will. I just do not get the attitude of people who will vote to restrict our constitutional rights to save "just one child". I like to save kids as much as the next person but not at the cost of my liberty and civil rights. If the anti gun people were truly for saving lives they can save a lot more by passing laws to prevent automobile accidents, school bus accidents, swimming pool accidents and medical accidents which all claim the same or many more lives than guns do. Heck, just try to find someone willing to ban alcohol as that is a killer of people too. Nope, when it comes to banning things that people have no personal use for they are all for it if they think it will do any good at all. Some people want to feel a part of something greater than themselves because they are incapable of doing great things on their own.

It is just an observation that those of you in NJ are very concerned about gun control while those of us in Florida are worried about having to live under restrictions like you currently have. Most of us would find living under NJ gun laws intolerable and very restrictive. I guess it shows that things can always get worse and/or be happy with what you have as it could be less.

Here is a recent example that it's not calming down. The left wing media is pushing their agenda on the sheep. They are lumping suicide by gun in with homocide by gun to get a more favorable result. And look who they use as one of their sources, "The researchers also used data on gun control measures in all 50 states compiled by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, a well-known gun control advocacy group." The Brady Center! I'm sure they weren't biased in their statistics.

I think what is happening is that they ruling classes are throwing their weight behind the local state legislation in order to help bolster the national legislation. Which is why it's so important we have to keep fighting off the local crap.

It's not calming down, as a matter of fact that is what the law makers want us to think. We can't afford to slow down our momentum, April is only a few weeks away. We need to keep attending the anti-gun talks, constantly meeting with law makers and explaining why all these laws are a bad idea and educating the public. Do not let off for a single moment.

There's a lot of truth in those few words. They aren't anchored here - land of the free and home of the brave - but view us as the 'land of the big bucks to buy a hacienda back home'. We've got one of our corporations - Citco - flying their flag at half-mast for the tyrant Chavez; and Holly-weird is mourning his passing. We have basketball players embracing North Korea - the same country who has stated the armistice with South Korea is over and has publicly threatened to nuke the US. Our BATF hands arms over the border to arm druglords. Our Attorney General believes its OK to trample posse comitatus laws with unmanned drones over our soil. We've got a Vice President who sounds more like the crazy uncle the family doesn't talk about, and a President who thinks that the 1820's Jacksonian attitude of "to the victor belongs the spoils" should be the hallmark of his second term. A second term won with ballot box shennanigans that would make a banana republic proud - such as lock-outs of pollwatchers and 100% votes for him going on right across our borders.

I think the only reason I think it's quiet right now is because Obama and his friends have bitten-off more than they can chew...
